It is a family run business. Was checked in by one of the sons and the mom. I booked tours with them, and used their laundry service. Everything was more than fairly priced and of high quality.
My first morning, I had an early tour to Phong Nha cave, and the mom made me a delicious banh mi to go. I really appreciated it.
You have to take off your shoes when entering the hotel, and the first thing I noticed when I was in my room was that it was super duper clean. The floor felt like it was freshly waxed on my bare feet.
The bathroom is compact -- sink, toilet and shower all in one elongated room, and in spite of that, I did not feel claustrophobic at all. Shower gel and shampoo provided; as with some toiletries; towels changed daily.
Room is adequately spacious -- there's a nice balcony although I didn't use much of it. There's also an elevator in the building. The owners were super duper friendly.
Breakfast seems to be more or less the same. The banh mi trung (egg) with tomatoes was simple yet delicious. I don't mind having it for breakfast daily at all.
Location-wise, there's some nice and chill cafes and local food around. A little walk brings you to the bar/night life street. The huong river (perfume river) is also walkable and recommended.
I actually really, really liked this place and hope it prospers further. I also ordered the airport transfer service, which was slightly pricier than if you ordered off Grab, but this is standard across all hotels. You also get a reliable and comfortable car and a stress-free service so I didn't mind....
Read moreMy wife and I stayed here for two nights and felt very comfortable! The room is not necessarily impressive with its size but you have everything you need such as air conditioning, a refrigerator, fan, hairdryer and a large, comfortable bed. The bathroom is nice and clean. At breakfast you can choose between several dishes which all tasted very good to us. Everything is always freshly prepared for you.
The hosts are really the friendliness in person and help where they can. We felt very welcome.
The accommodation also has a laundry service for 10k per kilogram and you can also rent a scooter for 150k per day. We had an almost new Honda Airblade with which it was super pleasant to explore the surroundings.
At the end of our stay we were even allowed to take a shower in the owners private bathroom after we came back from our sightseeing tour drenched in sweat. We had to check out in the morning due to the length of our trip and therefore could not shower in our room.
Not far from the accommodation there is also the vegetarian restaurant "Quán Chay Thanh Liễu". The food there is totally delicious and really super cheap. Only gift would be...
Read moreMy stay at the hotel itself was really nice, but I want to warn others about booking through Ly for the Motorvina Hai Van Pass:
Upon arrival in HA my group were charged an extra $16 for renting the bikes ‘an extra day’ - a charge never mentioned to any of us, despite our written contract saying we would rent the bikes for two days, which we understood we had paid for upon booking.
We tried to appeal the cost and went round and round in circles with both Ly and Motorvina for 1 hour before eventually giving up and paying, despite both Ly and Motorvina agreeing that the misunderstanding was not our fault - Motorvina said it was Ly’s mistake for not explaining the additional cost to us, Ly texted us saying it was Motorvina’s fault for the same.
I’m travelling on a very minimal budget so this hidden payment was a big deal for me, and it’s left a very sour taste in my mouth. Ly especially was trying to guilt me into paying over the phone, saying our representative at Motorvina, Mimi, was ‘in tears because she’d have to cover the $16 costs for us herself’. The whole thing felt very dodgy and was such an...
