I passed by this place a number of times. Frankly, the elegance of the interior made me nervous I would just be getting an experience specifically aimed at hustling westerners with a low value-to-cost ratio. Though the price-point makes this establishment more doable for tourists, I definitely had the wrong impression. I had easily THE best chicken karaage I've ever had. Honestly, unsure how they can get the batter to be so light and thin! It's perfectly crisp and as soon as you enjoy the crisp texture, you are enjoying a juicy and tender chicken. I could tell it was freshly fried. This was accompanied by a neat glass of japanese whiskey. The chitas is a great option for about 6usd. I also had a bowl of ramen. The broth was savory with a nice smokey taste i hadn't had before. I have had 4 bowls of bun bo hue while in the area so far and this broth was easily the most hearty and potent, which should be expected due to the price. Regardless, it was not watered down at all. Due to cost-of-living here, it is understandable that most establishments don't give a lot of meat in soups and the broth may not be potent. This ramen matched its price well; egg, pork, sliced meat, and more toppings with a strong umami broth.
For a tourist, I'd say if you'd like to take a small break from vietnamese food or want a unique snack, you'll definitely get your money's worth here!
Also, unlike other establishments in the area, this review was made of my own accord and not requested by the...
Read moreWent with a couple of friends and had a wonderful experience at this chic place. This establishment serves both authentic Japanese food and alcohol, with ingredients imported from Japan and prepped and cooked by themselves. The space is a modern, neon-filled nook that’s super fresh and cozy.
The owners are a Japanese-Vietnamese couple. They’re such wonderful, hospitable folks. They even offered free raindrop cake to us to try! I would totally recommend this place for family-styled Japanese food to everyone to try!

Also at the end we got a token which we slotted into a machine and got free candy! The staff were so friendly
I always wait until the next day to write a review to make sure no food poisoning, which there wasn’t,...
