Golden Holiday Hotel — Hotel in Nha Trang City

I stayed here with my boyfriend for 3 nights. Our greeting at the hotel was okay, we were shown to and around the room by a friendly man who we often saw out ground of the hotel. The reception staff were unfriendly and unhelpful and spoke little English. The area and hotel largely cater to Russian tourists and little English was spoken. ||||On our first night we received a call from reception at 1:30am asking if we wanted a wake up call at 7am the following morning. We had been fast asleep and I tried to call reception back but there was no number for reception on any of the documents in the room. We complained the next morning (with difficulty as the staff can’t speak English) and had no response or apology. ||||We wanted a taxi to vinpearl (a theme park resort) and despite this being a huge attraction in Nha Trang the reception staff could not understand what we were saying. We tried to ask for pool towels and explain that the safe in our room was broken but we were given blank looks in response. Out of everywhere we’ve stayed in Vietnam (we have been here for 3 weeks travelling the country) the staff were the most unfriendly and un-accommodating. ||||The rooms themselves were fairly nice and the pool was definitely not as nice as advertised, and was ruined by the sight and noise of construction surrounding the hotel. ||||Breakfast was poor and not worth the money. Perfect location - a few mins by the beach and the same for some great bars and restaurants. Entrance felt a bit tricky to see at first. Reception staff were very friendly but with some difficulties in English as the majority of the guests/tourists in Nha Trang seem to be Russian, not that it mattered to us.. We got help for booking train tickets (only cash though..). Asked for a late check-out, got it for half of the room charge which was okay. Used the laundry services - happy with it (plus they had 25% discount on it). Quite noisy everywhere which was a shame really. The room we had was without a window but that didn't bother us - it was spacious enough with good lighting. Bathroom was functional and okay size. Breakfast was good, though nothing special. Nice views though from the restaurant :) Pool area was somewhat disappointing as the pool pics advertised are not at all up-to-date. You could see the beach at some certain angles, yes, but was just expecting much more (plus cold water..). All in all we had a great time in Nha Trang, so we're pleased with our stay at the end of the day. And Loved the honeymoon-welcoming on the bed and the complimentary wine :) Thank you for the attention to detail...

Overall the stay was okay but not to the standard expected.|Firstly we opted for an early check when booking as we were getting an overnight bus from Hoi An. Upon arriving at 6am we were told check in was 2pm and there was no ability to check early. Not sure why there was an option for arrival time if this was the case. We deposited our bags at reception which were still sitting at the front in plain view upon our return.||Room was nice and clean. What we pretty much expected for this price range. We booked a room without a window which was fine. Wifi was weak and intermittent. Best be aware if you are intending to use it.||Soundproofing isn't to great in the rooms. We could hear people talking loudly in reception one morning at around 3am.||We were only given a breakfast coupon for one morning despite staying two days. We had to go down to reception the next morning to ask for another.||Pool was closed due to significant rain and wind which is understandable.||Reception staff were not very helpful or friendly.
