5/5 experience, service, food, ambience. This was one of the best dining experience in all of Patagonia for me (across Argentina as well as Chile). DO NOT leave Chalten without dining here! It's by reservation only at set hours, but it was very easy to make a reservation the day prior via whats app. From the moment they opened, it was a treat for all five senses. Despite dining alone at this fine establishment, they did not make me feel out of place or unwelcome even though I took up an entire table! It's a prix fixe 5-course tasting menu with portions so large I had to get a doggy bag which they happily provided. The empanada was not my favourite but every single item on the menu thereafter was finger licking good, including the sauces and the fresh salad! The steak was a rather large portion of a nice cut. Although the medium rare steak I asked for came out a tad more on the medium side than medium rare than I'm used to getting, I actually didn't mind that change at all; it was still very delicious and juicy! The desert was to die for! Perhaps the only thing I might suggest is giving the guests the option to choose a few courses from the veggie menu and others from the meat menu, though I realize it might make things a bit more complicated for the staff. Oh, and, more non-alcoholic drink options or tea to top it off would be perfect. The staff are very kind and courteous. A local band dropped by for a live music performance. There was also someone tending to a fire in one corner, subtly adding to the ambience. What a treat especially after doing Laguna de Los Tres earlier in the day! I would...
Read moreThis is the type of place that makes me question reviews. I think this place is waaay over hyped. Food is good or very good, BUT it's crazy expensive without much to justify it. Let me explain: The good: -The house wine was amazing!! one of my favorites in Argentina (however it's also 4 times the price or regular house wine) worth it!! -We had the one meat option and one veggie option which allowed us to taste the whole menu. The starters were really good and different, of course we liked some things better than others. -The menu allows you to try many different things -Service was amazing, genuine and welcoming without being fake. The bad: -For this price the main meat should be rib eye (ojo de bife). No way at this price you don't get the best meat. -I think the steak was overcooked... And overall disappointing. You can get better meat at many other places around town. -The main dish for veggie option is a vegetable skewer at 25$usd for the whole veggie course menu this is absolutely crazy expensive. The main veggie dish should be something a bit more elaborate. Or at least the course menu should be cheaper for veggie. I am sure even the owner cannot justify the price of the veggie option it's crazy. -the course menu is a lot of food, and feels very very wasteful. But it's a lot of food. Portions can be smaller. I saw most of the stakes left half eaten, very sad.
Anyways we had a very nice evening but leaving an...

If you’re in El Chaltén and looking for an extraordinary dining experience, The Asadores is a must-visit! From the moment you step into the cozy and welcoming atmosphere, you can tell this place takes pride in showcasing the best of Argentine culture and cuisine.
The five-course fixed menu is nothing short of perfection. Each dish is thoughtfully prepared, highlighting the incredible flavors of Patagonia. The meats were perfectly cooked over the open fire, with a smoky aroma and tenderness that you won’t forget. The sides and starters were equally impressive—fresh, creative, and packed with flavor. Don’t skip the local wines they offer; the pairing elevated the meal to a new level.
The service was impeccable. The staff was warm, attentive, and passionate about their craft. They took time to explain the dishes and made us feel like special guests. Even though the restaurant was full, the service remained smooth and personal.
The two dining shifts (7 PM and 9:40 PM) are a great way to accommodate everyone, but I highly recommend making a reservation because this place gets booked up—and for good reason!
Overall, The Asadores offers more than just a meal; it’s a celebration of Argentine cuisine and hospitality. If you’re visiting El Chaltén, this restaurant will be a highlight of your trip. I can’t recommend it...
