Lovely cafe in a quiet yet central location. I loved it so much I dined here twice during my stay in Chalten and got a lunch box take out! Ok so breakfast was avocado and scrambled egg toast. The presentation was 10 out of 10, but there was a bunch of what seem to be mayonnaise on part of it which I did not like and had to try and separate from the rest of my food. The Latte was excellent! I just wish it was a little bit bigger but perhaps that is very American of me to say :D I really enjoyed the osso buco with the mushroom risotto, very hearty! The ginger and mint lemonade was some of the best I've ever had. It's neither cheap nor too expensive, somewhere in the middle. Getting a lunch box from here was the best decision to take on my hike. In fact, it was so much food that I could not eat all of it! I got a premium salad box, which came with plenty of protein (decent amount of chicken, egg, and blue cheese) and was packed with flavor. There was a very decadent brownie, a small bag of handcrafted nuts and dry fruits. The apple was a great touch too! And the empanada was pretty good too! I cannot recommend this...
Read moreWe found this place on our first night and visited twice! Food was great and service was very friendly too. We got the lamb ravioli and pumpkin sorrentinos both nights and a mushroom risotto and two slices of cake as well the second night (modified to be meatless for vegetarian diet). Portions were generous and everything tasted great! We particularly loved the smoothies - you can choose two fruits, milk or water base, and whether you want sugar added - which is the perfect way to end a long day of hiking in the sun. Their boxed lunches are also fantastic and was more than enough to keep us full on a 13 mile hike the next day. You can order it with your dinner and they will have it ready to go by the end of your meal. Overall this place was great and definitely worth a visit...
Read moreWe had dinner at the restaurant. It was quite packed and we took a seat near the corner. Due to close proximity with another table, other patrons came in and tried to push against our chair. I would think the layout should be better. Nonetheless, we ordered some food and drinks. Had the chicken milanese spaghetti, which tasted okay but the chicken was not great. Somehow I guess chicken in this area are just not good. It was too dry although portion was huge especially for asians like us. Similarly, it was quite expensive, I guess it is the price for this area.
Anyway the vibe seems good if you have a group of friends having dinner, like a hikers retreat. However food taste wise, could be better for both the sandwich at the express store take-away and the...
