IGA Local Grocer on Park St — Local services in Melbourne

New owners took over a few months ago and it’s been down hill ever since. Range is getting smaller, prices are skyrocketing, and the service absolutely blows. Prices consistently scan higher at the register (and you won’t get any acknowledgement or apology from the staff), so double check the prices - or better yet, skip this place altogether and go to the one on sturt st or St Kilda road, or the localexpress on kings away - all a couple of mins away with much better prices, range...

Avoid this store, most things on the shelves are past best before date, I don’t even know if this is legal. When I informed the staff about expired stuff, must be third time they just keep it under the shelves and then change labels. The Atlanta Bakehouse bread I got from them had a future best before date however it’s so stale I can’t believe it is in on the shelf and I have a feeling they just replace the best...

The range of basics is pretty good for a small store. Reliable for emegencies when you need an ingredient quickly. Great selection of fruit juices at ok prices. Liquor section handy if you need something last minute. The staff do their job well.
