We were excited to finally try Taco Bell here since we loved it in the US. The settings of the place was nice as it's still new. The menu is modified slightly for the market here it seems. The wait for our food was about 20 minutes which wasn't surprising given there was a long line. Ordered the following: Quesadilla (with beef strips) meal - compared to the ones in the US, there was literally about 1/5 of the meat in there, and the wrap itself was flimsy and not crispy like the ones in the US. The fries were ordinary and not particularly freshly fried. The drink refill was OK I guess.
2 crunchy tacos - as can be seen by the photos, very disappointing. I have made tacos better at home with the Costco taco mix. Didn't realise we didn't get lettuce like in the picture on the menu until writing up this review!
California burrito - also can be seen on the photo, there's very little to like about it. Also did not have lettuce, again we didn't realise until writing this up.
Will have to wait until they improve the standards before contemplating on coming back.
No, we did not ring the bell of happiness...
Read moreTaco Bell has tried numerous times to be successful in the Australian market but never got traction. I always liked this as a fast food alternative to the burger and chicken joints. Fillings were tasty and they had sachets of hot sauce so you could adjust the heat to match your palate.
Many years have passed since then and the market has changed. Australians are getting a better grasp of what Mexican food should taste like. Sadly what they served me when I visited is not what it should taste like. Hot sauces? Nope just tomato sauce. Bottomless soft drink refills but as to the food quality - poor. The beef was runny and taste wise hard to identify as beef. The food was tasteless and dumbed down. I've tasted it in the USA and it's nothing like these offerings. Only plus I could give would be for the decor...
There are now many more fast Mexican food joints like Mad Mex, Zambrero or my favourite Guzman y Gomez to choose from so, I doubt Taco Bell will be able to crack the market this time round either unless they lift their game and tantalise...
Read moreWow. Where do I start? I placed an order on Menu Log for a vego burrito meal for my husband and a vego taco meal for myself and some additional nachos. I waited 40 minutes for my order to arrive (this was fine). When the order arrived I pulled out a chicken burrito, a chicken wrap and a beef taco. Clearly my order was incorrect, very annoying. I called Taco Bell to see if they could simply deliver the right meals. I spoke to a Brittany who explained there has been a mix up 'oops' and as their restaurant is with Menu Log they cannot replace the meal tonight unless I drive in, otherwise they cannot do anything to fix it! No compensation, no sorry. They shifted the issue to Menu Log and Brittany complained as to how hard the system is with them. Wow.it was Taco Bells fault not Menu Logs. I then call menu Log and explain the situation and they have the AUDACITY to offer me a $25 voucher when I spent over $40 on our meals. WOW Taco Bell, take responsibility for your mistakes!!!! Will never order...
