ÖBB First Class Lounge – Innsbruck Hauptbahnhof
During my recent journey through Innsbruck, I had the opportunity to visit the ÖBB First Class Lounge at the central train station. Located on the lower level of the main hall, the lounge offers a convenient and comfortable space for travelers with qualifying tickets.
Ambience & Amenities
The lounge, though modest in size, boasts a clean and modern design. Comfortable seating is available, with power outlets conveniently located under the seats. A digital screen displaying Austrian sights adds a pleasant touch to the atmosphere. The lounge provides complimentary Wi-Fi, a selection of snacks, and a variety of beverages, including coffee and bottled drinks. However, it’s worth noting that there are no restroom facilities within the lounge itself.
Access & Entry
Access to the lounge is granted to passengers holding a First Class ticket with a minimum value of €15, Nightjet sleeper car tickets, or a Klimaticket Ö with a First Class upgrade. Additionally, holders of certain international rail passes and Railteam alliance members with higher status can gain entry. For those with a Second Class ticket (excluding Nightjet seating car tickets), entry is available for a €10 surcharge.
Overall Experience
The ÖBB Lounge in Innsbruck serves as a tranquil retreat from the bustling station environment. While the amenities are somewhat basic—limited to snacks and non-alcoholic beverages—the lounge provides a comfortable setting to relax or work before your train departure. Its cleanliness and modern furnishings contribute to a pleasant experience, making it a worthwhile stop for eligible...

After we proved him right, we ate and noticed that none of the other customers who entered after us were required to show any proof of identification at all!!! This is the first time at any lounge, especially an OBB one, that we were required to show any proof of identification. Talk...
Read moreThis is a very small lounge. We appreciated having access to this lounge for the free-flow drinks and snacks as well as comfortable seating and power plugs. I was not expecting much but I docked one star because there was no-one at the concierge the entire hour we were there! Our train was cancelled and rescheduled so it would have been nice to have someone directly in the lounge to help us instead of going to the ticket counter. Be aware there are no toilets in this lounge so plan...
