I was told by the Director of Golf they had no tee times, and even as a guest of the Baha Mar I couldn’t use the range, it was only for individuals with a tee time. I was on your putting green at 7:30am, and until 9am not one person even tee’d off or went to the range. The answer you gave is the range can only fit 8 people at a time & not one single person went to that range for an hour & a half, and I was there till 10am chipping, putting, hitting into the net you rudely said I could use being im spending thousands at the resort. You could’ve easily allowed me to hit balls at the range as a resort guest for a short period being I got there almost at first light. You also easily could’ve squeezed me out while I was here as a PGA Member & a single. I’m a +1 handicap, the course was empty completely, you put off maybe 4 tee times from 7:30am to 10am when I was there watching on your practice green.
The director of golf was short, curt, and very rude to me on our ten year anniversary. Baha Mar itself is tremendous but Royal Blue is highly over rated, and the Director of Golf is a very nasty person to deal with! I would’ve spend hundreds of dollars Shopping in your shop like I do at the Ocean Club at Atlantis which is a so much better of a course, and they were so accommodating! I got out at Atlantis no problem yesterday! They honored PGA rate, take care of us every time we come down, I come twice a year, and plan to bring our golf club but we sure won’t be looking...
Read moreWas lucky enough to play here 2 times this past week. ABSOLUTELY beautiful course. I would definitely consider it a two nine hole course as the front and back each have their own individual layouts. First round on Monday went very well, the wind was a bit of a challenge but it was great regardless. I didn’t accomplish what I wanted to that day, more on that later. Arriving and getting our PXG rentals was smooth and had a little time on the range to get used to them. Played again on Wednesday and this is where it got a little bit disappointing. Showed up and got our rentals as usual and hit the range for a few minutes. Noticed on the first tee that the GPS wasn’t functioning, someone must’ve called because someone swung by and said they’re working on it and will get back to us. Well, the GPS never came back, and honestly, it would’ve been very helpful especially with some of the approaches. I left some short and went long as well. No yardage markers at least a 150 would’ve been very helpful. I did par 16 which was my only goal…LOL. So whoever decided to put the pin behind the bunker, Ha!. Overall an incredible experience and a shout out to Andy for answering all emails promptly and running a top notch operation. Other than the non functioning GPS, it was a very memorable 2 rounds. I’ll play again for sure…I’ll just be sure to pack my range finder...
Read moreI have to say after reading most of the glowing reviews I had hoped for a great round on Saturday 1/20. I had a 1:50 tee time and it gets dark around 6:15 this time of year so we had 4.5 hours to play a nice resort course round, figured that’s plenty of time considering it’s a tough course and pretty expensive to keep away most high handicap casuals. Boy was I wrong, after 4 hours we were on hole 11 behind groups of 5,6 AND an 8 some!!! No Marshall or ranger on the entire course to hurry up play. The group ahead of us shouldn’t have even been playing, it was maybe their 1st time ever playing golf? The groups ahead of us were starting to argue with each other as everyone was trying to get in as much golf as they could before sunset. Watched another group play 2 balls each for a few holes. Very disappointed in the management (or lack of management) there. Course was beautiful and in good shape just very disappointed with what should be a luxury Troon course product. On top of that, there was no one to speak with when we had to skip out of the last 5 holes after it was too dark to play. The response essentially from the hotel was “oh well, relax….everyone is on island time!!” I’ve requested a refund but haven’t heard anything...
