The Handmade House in Burlington is a truly special place. From the moment you walk in, you're welcomed by the warm scent of handmade candles and a feeling that everything in the store has been created with care and intention. The space is beautiful, inviting, and full of character.
My experience actually began with a phone call. I was looking for something specific and spoke with Emily, who was so kind, thoughtful, and helpful that I made a point of remembering her name. When I visited the store a few days later, I was happy to meet her in person. Although they didn’t have exactly what I was looking for, Emily offered to take my information and pass it along to the artisan who might be able to help. Emily is exactly the kind of person you hope to meet in a place like this, genuinely warm, engaged, and attentive. She listens, makes thoughtful suggestions, and helps you feel welcome and inspired.
While I was there, I ended up buying two gorgeous pairs of earrings, so reasonably priced, and some beautiful little toiletry bags. Everything felt thoughtfully made, with real quality and care.

Read moreThis is an ABSOLUTELY beautiful shop. There are all kinds of crafted goods in this location from soaps, jewelry, clothing, art, stainless, handmade cards, Candles, one of a kind items and the list goes on... I spoke to the staff and apparently there is also another location in Dundas The only negative is the location/ building doesn't stand out. It looks like a home tucked across the street from the Poacher. I would suggest doing something to make the location stand out more like painting the door red, or having a larger sign outside so people can see its an actual store and not a house.
Otherwise, it is a great place if you know...
