Honestly this track is super fun. The karts feel great, and the track is wide so there is a lot of opportunity to pass slower drivers. I also really like the layout and look of the whole place and you can tell they put a lot of effort into the artwork. The staff were nice but there was only one cashier when I was there. It took a lot of time to get set up. I saw 3 tills so there shouldn't have been a reason for only one cashier when it was so busy. It took about 20 minutes upstairs in the waiver area because the cashier was busy the whole time and we didn't even get greeted either. We looked around and just figured we would have to fill out waivers and then once that was done, we waited in line for the cashier to tell us what to do next. We almost missed our race because of this. It is a little expensive to race here as my honest opinion. The price feels like more than what it should be worth especially since they let kids race with adults. Kids that aren't old to enough to have learners licenses. It diminishes the racing quality as a whole because when they crash, everyone's speed gets dropped down for about 30 seconds each time and the kids keep crashing every lap. It gets pretty irritating after a while. This track is also the most expensive track between speeders and fastrack so I was not expecting kids to be able to drive in the same race with adults. I was also not pleased to find out that they didn't have locks for their lockers. If my wife did not have a friend to watch her purse, my wallet and our phones, we would have asked for refunds. Otherwise everything was amazing. If I was rating the employees and the track alone, this would be 100% a five star rating. This review lost a star each for their expensive price, lack of safe storage for valuables, and lack of front employees that almost caused us to...
Read moreDon’t waste your money here. Spent almost $200 for 4 of us to drive 2 races. First race they kept stopping my friend saying he needs to slow down so the people behind him can pass, meanwhile as he’s stopped and an employee is on the track to tell him this they slow all of our carts down. It happened multiple times during the race. Whatever, we figured the second race would be better. Second race after 2 laps they flag me in to pit. Im thinking something is wrong with my kart because I was not sure why else they would stop me. They tell me “you’re done. You were driving wrecklessly, bumping into everybody. You did it the first race too this was your last chance.” It was just my friends and I on the track and I know I didnt bump into any of their cars. They confirmed later that none of us bumped eachother. Sat on the bench to wait for my friends to finish the race, when i see two of them being pitted aswell. One was told the same thing, that he was bumping into everybodys karts. The other friend was told he was being kicked out for drifiting around the corners too hard. He pointed out how in the safety video it shows the karts drifting just like we all were and they said we were destroying their karts and we would not be reimbursed because we were all driving against their policies. If you dont want us to drift, dont advertise your karts drifting in the video. If you dont want us to pass eachother, why time everybodys laps making it a race? And why are we paying for you to slow our carts down every 2 minutes so employees can walk on the track to tell you you’re going too fast. I’ve gone go karting at speeders and have never had issues with speed, drifting, and if i’ve ever accidentally bumped or been bumped there nobodys been kicked out unless they’re clearly doing it...
Read moreReview for Drive Go-Karting Experience
After trying both Speeder's and Drive, I can confidently say that Drive has the potential to be Edmonton's top karting destination. The karts here are genuinely fast, making the brakes necessary—this adds a real skill component that sets Drive apart. The wide, high-quality track allows skilled drivers to easily make passes and work through the pack, which is fantastic.
However, the experience suffers due to the high number of karts allowed on the track, especially with mixed skill levels. The issue isn’t about slow drivers or bottlenecks; the wide track handles those well. The real challenge is that with so many drivers at varying skill levels, there are frequent spin-outs, leading to constant yellow flags. If they set a maximum of four or five karts on the track at once, this would likely cut yellows in half, creating a smoother, more enjoyable race experience.
Another important improvement would be for staff to prioritize minimizing yellow flag time. Instead of having the entire race slowed down for extended periods, it would be great if the race could pause briefly, ensuring that paying customers get the full driving time they expect.
I love so much about Drive: the adjustability and performance of the karts, the spacious track, and the thrill of a true racing experience. I’m more than willing to pay a premium for this level of quality, but the frequent yellows and crowded track leave customers feeling short-changed. With fewer karts on the track and quicker responses to incidents, Drive could easily be the best go-karting experience...
