I used to love this place and come almost every month, but yesterday I ate at Jet Cafe for breakfast and my experience fell a bit short. First, I ordered the meat lovers skillet (my usual) and I decided to get extra peppers and extra sauce. I understand that there would usually be some type of extra charge, but I expect business owners to communicate exactly how much that extra charge is to the customers WHILE they're punching it in and BEFORE I pay. Only after did I realize how much extra it was, and I wouldn't have ordered it if I had known. I strongly urge the workers here to communicate any extra charges as they are ordered, instead of just skating by saying nothing. Then, it took my table 40 minutes to get our food, which is unusual as it's usually much faster than that. I'd appreciate at least refills on water and our waitress communicating how much longer we can expect to wait. Alternatively, if there's a long wait expected, it should be communicated DURING the order. Lastly, me and my table were missing onions from our skillet, and were told that we could get extra onions next time we come to Jet Cafe, and to write our name down on a piece of paper. What if I don't want to come to Jet Cafe again? What if the next time I go to Jet Cafe is in 6 months? What if they lose the paper with my name on it? What if someone comes in with the same name as me? There are so many flaws to this system and I would have much appreciated just getting a complimentary drink or refund on the spot. Overall, Jet Cafe used to be my go-to spot in Hamilton for a classic brunch but I think I'll now start looking at other options, like...

I stick to the Columbian which I always enjoy everywhere including at home and they have a choice of whiteners including 18% cream which is my choice... yummy, yummy yummy. For those with a fairly big appetite there usually some steak and eggs specials at very reasonable prices I usually stick with the exceptional bacon and eggs over easy for about five and a half dollars, including home fries a choice of toast including light or dark rye, variety of jams... again quite an excellent value. The staff is always very charming and and helpful I have a Mobility disability and they are always anxious to help, same with customers, very friendly crowd always anxious to make sure I'm well taken care of. Always enjoy my visits there regret that they aren't more often but that's because we're blessed with so many great places in Hamilton and...
Read moreJet Cafe is a staple breakfast cafe of Hamilton. It's long time presence in the International Village of the downtown core is a draw among the early birds and night shifters.
Their menu has an awesome mix of breakfast foods... from staples like Big Breakfasts combos of eggs, bacon, ham, and perogies with all sorts of toppings and the classic home fries.
Or if you're more in the mood of sweet tooth and want to treat yourself, there are pancakes and french toast.
Can't forget eggs benedict, always a great and filling option for a brunch.
And if all you're looking for is to pickup a fast and steaming cup of coffee, you can't go wrong with the variety of selections.
Jet Cafe is my favorite breakfast joint. Reliable, consistent, friendly and welcoming atmosphere where the staff are always happy to serve everyone.
My favorite part is they display local artists paintings and photography that you can buy. You never know what's going to catch your eye with the variety...
