I noticed this establishment has a habit of dismissing honest reviews as “fake reviews”. I can assure you this is an honest review of ordering dinner for two from Boom Scorch.
Our order was an uber eats delivery. Driver delivered our order within 15 mins so no issues with our delivery.
We orders two large meals for sharing. One jerk chicken, one fried chicken. We also ordered a side of saltfish fritters.
First food issue: Our order was missing the Saltfish fritters. No explanation or notation that this item was not available. Thankfully uber refunded us for the missing item.
Next: coleslaw arrived in a soupy mess. Container was very small for a large order. Very little slaw, mostly juice. Flavour was there but quantity and quality disappointing.
Next: Jerk Chicken was salty over flavourful. Very little kick. Jerk gravy very watered down. Sorry but unappealing.
Best part of our order- rice and peas, fried chicken. Each of these items were exceptional. Fried chicken sauce was also very tasty.
Worst part- cold cabbage, stale white rice, and most of the items arrived either lukewarm or cold.
Given the reviews on Uber, I was expecting a much higher quality of food.
The arrival of cold food, missing items, and somewhat flavourless items, just made this a very lacklustre experience. Definitely felt a lot of corners were cut.
There are quite a few other Caribbean spots in the city that far exceed Boom Scorch. Sometimes trying something new is a pleasant surprise, but not in this case. Will not order again.

Read moreRead moreBought food from here, went home to find the chicken served to us was mouldy, when we kindly returned the food the the gentleman was asking me how long I had the food out, the audacity to spin off this terrible rotten food onto the customer as if it was us who was at fault. Tip to y’all take ownership for the good and the bad, that being said I won’t be returning here ever and not because of the spoiled food but because of the response to that spoiled food. -edited atmosphere to one star. 🫡 Lastly this is why these people are not professional, they are lying because I did not eat any of their disgusting rotten garbage meat moreover who cares when it happened when the facts are it happened, no accountability just victim blaming, does Google care when it happened, is there a time limit on reviews? No! Because that’s irrelevant and Google a successful company knows this but bad business people like you seem to think time erases history, anyway just updated your score to 0/10 for atmosphere I hope we can both grow from this as you said after insulting and lying about me to diminish my criticism of the real experience I had a “year ago” at your business serving rotten meat, which is the truth: I’ll stick to my Jamaican restaurants in Toronto. If I could I’d give this place negative scores simply for their dishonesty and arrogance but instead I’ll let life take its course and watch the ship sink from...
Let’s start with the good then finish off with the not so good. First time ordering here I bought a small jerk chicken rice and peace with coslaw the jerk chicken was dry had no oxtail gravy on it which I ordered the rice and peas was ok and the coslaw was great. I decided to give this place another chance so I ordered curry chicken white rice with soup which was stated on the website that the soup of the day was goat head soap which is my favourite and have to say that was the only good thing I’ve got from here that tasted really good so far but I received pig tail soup instead which I am a fan of but the soup I got from here was flavourless was very fresh good thing I decided to buy a medium instead of large thinking I was going to get goat head. The white rice was hard and the curry chicken was ok. There is hope for this place but at the prices you guys charge for your meals I was expecting better regardless of the ingredients you use in the food it is not worth the prices you guys charge. charging 50 cents for a tiny little container of pepper that’s not hot at all is kinda ridiculous.
Edit: you replied you don’t sell pork. Well what meat was in your...
