July 2022 update As known as the Aga Khan Foundation. The Delegation of the Ismaili Imamat in Ottawa is the “representational office” in Canada of the Seat of the Ismaili Imamat. ( delegation cause they are not a recognized country. ) They are quite open and transparent with their status/ office and have been quite welcoming by offering regular tours and visits to their location. Highly recommend: On can book scheduled visits on Eventbrite to better view and understand the goal and purpose of the delegation. Alternatively you can email and schedule tours if desired. The building itself was design by Japanese architect Maki. While the building is modern in design, it has incorporated many alternative / traditional elements and materials that are uncommon to what we see every day. ( such as court yard design, water flow, linear pattern etc). Pay attention to its geometric shapes and patterned design throughout the atrium in the wall and the floor. ( ie. 49 squares on the floor signifying 49th leader)

You don't have to be an Ismailii to visit this building, you don't even have to be a muslim to visit this building. All you need is a little of appreciation of architecture and you will be amazed by this building. Just a piece of advise, book a tour which costs nothing and perhaps in spring, summer and autumn. Summer being the perfect time as there is a small garden behind this building that is part of the tour and you will get some more knowledge of the park as well.

We were amazed at smallest of the details that were taken care of while construction and we were in awe upon the finish of the tour. The tour takes about 30 minutes and you get some time at the end to relax in the atrium and visit the library. Make it a point to visit this...

Volunteer we meet give me little into I need more info place is beautiful garden need to be look after parking is hard to find all over volunteer need more knoleg about Islam and Ismail community Masha Allah bilding is beautiful I wish I can see all the room but inshallah next time Allah bless nurani family all good work by volunteer need some more time to see all the room God bless Ismail community and God bless nurani family...
