David and his team have been fantastic to work with. When you walk through their door you are treated with a friendly smile and as if you were family. David knows that if you've come to him, you've done your research and he wants to make sure you get exactly what you are looking for. It is truly his passion. There is no push for sales or funky business, if you want a unique gem piece, Skyjems is the team for it.
My partner and I initially came to David, about a year and a half ago, just looking at stones for an engagement ring and he showed us this amazing blue zircon (my fiancées birth stone). We've never seen anything like it! We got to look at different ring settings to see what she liked and get an idea. Forward a month, I was working with David on the details of the design with some back and forth CAD drawings. We got it perfect and the piece was made.
It turned out to be a huge surprise, she had no clue I was getting it made. On the day of our engagement, the ring blew her away, to this day she never wants to take it off. Every time we look at it, it brings back the amazing memories of that day. Such a classic and heirloom quality piece, it was a no brainer to come back for the wedding band.
Fast forward to today, a couple months before the wedding. My fiancée and I looked around for jewelry inspiration, and she fell in love with a ring jacket as a wedding band. I knew the only way we could get it right was to get David and his team back on it. Once more they outdid themselves. The engagement ring sits flush in the jacket, the diamonds are perfectly aligned, and it all compliments each other as a perfect package. My fiancée was blown away, she can't wait to wear it all together after our wedding day.
The pictures below don't do the work justice. All the time we get people asking about the ring and the inspiration behind it. We have a story to tell and we know that no matter the price, this piece was made exactly how my fiancée wanted it and it'll be unique to us forever. I think if your buying an engagement ring, do you research and get an amazing story worthy piece made from David and his team at Skyjems. It'll make a lasting story and memory and that's what...
Read moreUPDATE: Poor David can't even spell "bologna." đ I don't have a gem business; I'm simply a collector based out of Vancouver, and yes, you didn't have jewelry at the gem show...I saw the sphalerite on your TikTok (congrats on the 8 likes on that video, by the way)! That doesn't change the fact that you're asking $50,000 for something that is worth $4,000 at most! đ€Šđ»ââïž
I saw your little booth at the gem show. You had mostly horrid, pale green, heavily included and windowed emeralds that were listed for roughly triple what any dealer in their right mind would ask!
No, no, no! Not only does he have me confused with someone else...I don't even have Instagram. Stop lying out your teeth, David, and let's talk about how badly you've been doing this customers. How much can they get for the stones after they buy them from you?
I have been collecting for 6 years now, and I know relatively what you should be charging for the level of quality you're offering. You should be able to resell a gem for at least half of what you paid for it if you needed to but I don't think your customers would ever be able to get even 10%! 18,000 for a cloudy, dark, heated "ruby"?! It looks like a garnet!
Obviously, this is my humble opinion as a customer, and rather than conceding that may be some of your pricing could use some rework and you can work with customers, you slandered me. Ah, okay.
I see your true colors, and much like many of your offerings, they are rather unappealing.
Again, I don't even have Instagram. I have seen your booth at the Toronto gem show. I believe there was a lad with long hair working with you. Jesus, $15,000 for an emerald with a huge window!
Poor Torontonians have been had! I'm guessing the lack of a gem culture has made Torontonians gullible when it comes to gems. Flaunting heavily included, windowed, color zoned basement bargain trash that David convinced them was a spectacular buy. Oh, and the 53 CT brown sphalerite for $50,000! I bought a 50 CT stone with much nicer orange and green instead of that brown for âŹ2,800 last week!đđ He's fleecing y'all worse...
Read moreI am so happy to have found Skyjems and had David guide us through the sapphire buying process. Thanks to him I am the proud owner of one of the most beautiful stones I have ever seen. From my initial introduction to Skyjems to the final interaction - every step we felt like more than a valued customer - almost like close friends. David goes above and beyond to create informative videos on each stone he sells. We learned more in these videos about stone quality/characteristics than we received at any other jewellery vendor. Davidâs description of each stone is honest and thorough so that there are no surprises when you receive them. These videos alone set David and Skyjems high above any other stone/jewellery vendor- but then comes the dedicated exceptional customer service: Once we decided on a stone it was shipped via priority mail. We decided to change our pickup location and redirected the stone. Within ten minutes of me redirecting the parcel online I received a call from Skyjems to make sure that I knew that the parcel had been redirected. I picked up the parcel and Skyjems called me later that afternoon to check and see if I loved it (I did). Skyjems prices are incredible and David went out of his way to suggest settings and ideas for my stone even though I was upfront with him by letting him know we had a friend that would likely do the setting. I will continue to look to Skyjems when adding to my jewelry collection - Iâll actually be browsing the site right after I finish...
