In June of this year. I was in a very difficult position . I had lost my job from a previous site and had a very very difficult time finding work . The recession is still quite bad and was really affecting me as I was struggling to find full time work.

It had been recommended to me by more than one person that I should join Embers and boy oh boy it was the best decision I have ever made in my life.

I honestly simply cannot get over just how magnificent they are as an organization and just how much they care about their staff . If you don’t have the proper PPE? No problem Embers Vancouver has got you covered and they will provide you the proper PPE ( Hat , on budget constraints, they will let you keep the PPE and working equip until you can afford it.

Not only is that a cool feature about Embers but they not only help with PPE they also provide transportation as they have 3 drivers and they will drive you all over the lower mainlands ( North Vancouver , Coquitlam , New Westminister, Abbotsford , Burnaby , Vancouver , Richmond etc you name it . They understand that some of us workers live very far away or our sites are far away so they will give you a ride every day at 6am .

Embers is a non profit organization. They are profitable and a 5 star organization. But majority of their revenue they invest right back into their employees and workers as they personally want their workers to succeed , move on up in the world , and will pay for workers training programs like the Traffic Control Person Training, Construction Safety officer and Hoist Operator Training just to name a few and they will 100% fund the training for you so that you can succeed in the construction industry.

I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for the help of Manav the Branch Manager , Paulina and TiTi the Lead Staff Specialists , Lead dispatcher Jason and Josh the other morning dispatcher and a huge shoutout goes out to Connie the Accounts Manager for my payroll always being on time every Friday. I have been with Embers for 5 months and I have worked every single day with them. As they rewarded me with my punctuality , communication and effort .

Embers Vancouver is very charismatic , empathetic , Cordial , allegiant , friendly , supportive and they have high character . They put me on a site that changed my life , I now have more confidence than I have ever had before , I have ideals I strive towards , I believe in my abilities , myself and what I was always capable of doing and I have now just gotten my first ever job that pays me more than ever before and Embers helped make that happen and I would never have been able to accomplish this big moment in my life without the support and dedication Embers has given me .

They gave me the tools and the paraphernalia to succeed and I will be forever grateful and inspired by Embers for changing my life and being about of this journey I am on .

I recommend Embers to anyone who wants to have a successful career in the construction industry or simply a change of scenery .

The staff at Embers is Amazing, they are people who care, they listen, and they are responsive! They get how hard it is to live without money and work! And they don't judge the people coming in there for work and where they are coming from! And if a person messes up and disappears for a time and returns, they simply keep helping, doing their best to get everyone who wants to work and get somewhere in life to where it is they want to be! They got me out in tge field working doing something perfect for all my current skills within a werk ofvthe orientation and paperwork. I couldn't believe how fast they were! And the reason I have stayed with embers after being offered permanent work where they sent me, is because they pay fair wages, what is right for the work we do! And their accounting skills actually makes sure we get paid right, they will double and triple check and ask questions to make sure they get what maybe the employer did get wrong! And to top it all off they will continue training people who want further training for additional job options, promtions and increase in pay for the new job skills! In short as soon I met evetyone abd got a feel for the place I was like I want this! I wanted to work there with all of them right away! I would love to see some part of my business future co-operate with Embers and help them grow and continue to succeed! And when I am able to find the time I will accept the further free training to recertify in things I have let expire for the yrs I was not living in B.C. and I look forward to the adventures all of that will lead me to in the 2024 yr ahead! Great company with a good vision. If you’re new to the construction industry you can gain skills, and if you’re already skilled and a reliable worker, you’ll pretty much always have work, as long the demand is there. They offer generous pay, free coffee and packed lunches in the morning (Mon-Fri only), and sometimes packed dinners in the afternoons.

Anyone familiar with the construction industry will recognize that there is a hierarchy of skill, experience, and competence that exists there. Basically if you’re work is excellent and you can learn quickly, you’ll be rewarded. However, if you’re not so skilled or not so smart, you can end up doing manual general labour jobs for years and never really move up the hierarchy. The general labour jobs are physically demanding, sometimes dangerous, and necessary, but because they are unskilled they pay less.

Fortunately, what EMBERS aims to do is create skilled labourers through funded training programs, and stability by shifting individuals from daily pay to weekly pay.

Also, if you travel often, then EMBERS makes it very easy to get work: whether skilled or unskilled, just show up early in the morning, and you can be placed in an appropriate job that same day.
