Updating this review to reflect the response from the store/owners. I bought what turned out to be a resealed one piece tcg box. After an initial review the owner reached out very swiftly to resolve the situation. After giving a detail explanation and showing how the box had been resealed the owner offered me a replacement immediately which they did not need to do. It is also quite apparent that this store and its staff were not in any way responsible for the resealing, I have gotten plenty of sealed tcg products from them in the past and have never had any issues. While this situation could have turned me away from the store, the swift response and action on the part of the owner and the staff was quite eye opening and I will happily continue to buy sealed product here!

I can't sing the praises of this place highly enough!! Some friends and I visited because we had a few hours before dinner and we all love games so we came to play but it was my first time and I wasn't prepared for how EXCELLENT their indie TTRPG section would be!! Seriously, they had physical copies of Thousand Year Old Vampire, A Quiet Year, Eco Mofos!!!, A Mending (something I have been trying to get for YEARS after missing the Kickstarter), and so many more (I was so excited I forgot to take a picture but I found one so full disclosure the last picture of the TTRPG shelf is not mine but Nick Villanti's so please give his review some love). Also the staff is super friendly and knowledgeable and they play great music too! I can't wait to go back!!

This game shop has a nice vibe. The staff welcomed us in very kindly and caring, and with a smile. They have a lot of games however they are a bit expensive — but the fun of playing the games is likely worth more than you’re gonna pay. They have a space in the back with lots of tables and chairs and a fan where people can pay five dollars per person for three hours to play games there. The games — in the section where you can play for three hours — are colour-coded. So you can find out which games are easier to play harder to play and specifically for two players. I think that this is an amazing addition because it will save people there so much time and it was a very respectful and caring move from the management of the store.

Asked a friend to buy me a Pathfinder book which was listed for $14.99 on their webpage and there was only 1 in stock. Same day, my friend went there to buy the book and got charged $22.99 instead. Quickly checked the webpage to make sure my friend got the right book, well, obviously he got the right one, no stock available now. Called the store, not that they completely threw bs reasons like "restocking" they also refused to take the book back. My first experience with them has been disgusting, I suggest you to keep an eye on your wallet when you are around this store.

I also checked the previous reviews and read how the owner is responding to negative comments like a 9 year old kid and blaming customers instead of acknowledging the terrible experience they cause. Even that is a sign of the customer service you would receive when you deal with this store.

Edit: Response to the owner's explanation

It is funny and pathetic to blame exchange rate. You have a webpage which sells a product for CAD 14.99, this is exactly how you list the product. Then my friend comes to your store, he does not know the price and you charge him $22.99. My statement is pretty valid and I would hope small or big, all the businesses to fail if they are cheating, overcharging unaware customers and then lying and not taking the responsibility about it. The problem is not $8 here, it is the owner's ethics, well, let's say lack of ethics. I am also glad that you still have the phone recordings. Just to let you know, it is illegal to record phone calls without stating this at the beginning of the call, not that I care of lol. If you really have the recording (I highly doubt it), you can listen to yourself refusing the take the book back only 30 minutes after you...

I like to support our local game stores, but I finally decided to give a review after a few unsatisfied experience. This is mostly about magic the gathering singles. Firstly, the online store stock for mtg singles is not reliable. I had came to the store and left empty handed because staff could not locate the singles. Secondly, there is no way to complete the online order through their website because payment option are missing. I came by to the shop as of the day of this review to try to buy a single. The staff refuse to sell it to me because the price went up in the last 5 hours. If I had the option to complete the order online, I would've ordered it earlier in the week instead of picking it up on the weekend. The most important point is that they did not honor their prices written online. They changed the price of it as soon as I left the store. I would not recommend this place for mtg products and most board games as well. Prices are higher than it should. Look online or other local game stores with more competitive prices around Vancouver. e.g. Theconnectiongames or magicstronghold. Staffs are generally friendly except for my experience today.

Update: An hour later, I was able to get 4 copies of the same card I wanted at magicstronghold. They honored their online price and updated their price after. I was surprised that they'd sell me 4 copies after my experience at onestopshop. It's sad that I couldn't even get the single only copy that onestopshop...

Every time i go to that store I understand why amazon is taking over. unfortunately amazon still don’t have a big collection on miniatures for dnd yet, so i have to keep going there, is also the only place around the downtown area. The costumer service is normally pretty great except for one person... one of the staff members ( is always using a hat, i think it might even be the owner of the store ). The guy apparently have something against me... it is weird, he treats everyone else normally but with me he is just not nice... i guess that is the word. I thought that i was imagining things so i ask my wife to pay attention, and she did notice the difference... on the occasion he didn’t answer my ā€œhow is it going?ā€ And wen straight for business in a cold manner. After being in a warn geek conversion with a costumer in front of me.

That last time i was there i try to again make some sort of connection, since i have to go to the store from time to time i thought i should try one last time.... I was buying a young black dragon miniature and he try to tell me that it was mislabel as a bronze dragon, then i ask ā€œbut is black right?ā€ ( it had a handmade label saying ā€œyoung black dragonā€) he said yeah. So i said ā€œoh cool they are the cooler ones because of the horns to the frontā€ he then answer ā€œsureā€ looking at a distance with...
