edited after posting our review ans contacting the head office with our complaint they gave us a call and are now refunding all of our money. Thank you for following through with great service. Not sure if it was just one employee that was giving the terrible and unreasonable service or what but the manager followed through! So thank you! If i could give 0 stars I would. My boyfriend called the store on the 2nd to see if they had a specific game. The lady on the phone said they did and told him the price. After finding out the price and realizing it was low he said he was looking for the game with the wii gun. She said they do its called the 'north american adventure bundle'. He asked what it was (he was looking for a game called dangerous hunts) and she told him its what its called when you get the gun with the game as a bundle. So he said great put it on hold ill be right there as it was just about closing time. Once arriving he found out that it wasn't the correct game and if he wanted the correct game and the gun he would have to buy both the bundle and the original game. He asked if the gun wasn't compatible if he could take it back. They agreed so he came home after spending $70.00 on the two games. Once home we tried both games and the gun wasnt compadible with the original game as well was slightly broken as a piece of it kept sliding open when it shouldn't have. So we took them both back right at opening time (he was actually there 30 minutes before opening thinking they opened earlier then they did) the next day expecting to get our money back as not once did they say that he couldnt. Once arriving he was told that they couldn't give his money back and that they could only give him store credit. Annoyed as they neglected to inform him of the return policy even when he asked the day before and if he had known he wouldn't have purchased them in the first place , he started to look around to see if there was another game he wanted to exchange it for. When he only saw one game that seemed slightly promising but didnt use all of his credit and wasn't coop which is what he was most interested in, he asked if his store credit could be put on a gift card or something for a later purchase or to see if the game he wanted was at another store and he was told no he had to purchase something now or he would lose out on his $70.00. frustrated at this point he picked some games that he wasn't totally interested in just to try to get his moneys worth. He was told that because he was returning something the only way to do so was to sign up for the eb games edge program which he did not want to do but was told that it was the only way. he was also told that the new games he was purchasing would be final sale and he could not return them. After arriving home none of the games worked they were all scratched and had a cleaning spray residue all over it. we tried cleaning them and nothing worked they kept coming up 'disc unreadable' we tried our own previously purchased games to ensure that it wasn't the Xbox but our games worked. so now we dont have the game we originally wanted, were neglected to be told of the return policy, were told we had to purchase something in that store right then or we would lose out on our $70.00, and when we did buy games none of them worked and we were told we couldn't return them so we ended up losing out on our $70.00 anyway. we would like our money back. we understand you want your customers to be loyal but you also need to be loyal to your customers. Please dont waste your time with this establishment. Biggest disappointment of...
Read moreOk.. if you are going to get a ps5 you should not get it here. Also they require you to buy a controller and grand turismo 7 as well as the console. I asked if it had to be Grand Turismo as i didnt like racing games. They said yes. Only that game. I left and came back an hour later and said if im buying two games can it just not be grand turismo because i wont play it. The worker said no. Has to be that game. She then explained it was also a deal with Horizon but they dont have copies of it so i had to get GT7. I then asked if the deal is either of those can i come back when horizon was in stock and get that deal. She said "no. Not possible. Not ever. It's only GT7 from now on..." ok.... The other employee jumped in and said its been the same deal for 2 years. Interesting as neither of these games were even out a year ago. Flat out lie. He said GT7 has been a bundle deal for 2 years and they will only sell it with GT7. Now.. lets just look online. GT7 released in march this year to sub par reviews. The other worker said she cant do anything for me. Thats it. And turned away. And the guy did the same. I discussed with my fiance if it was worth reselling GT7 online. (A few on used vic at the time of posting because of this location btw) The girl worker turned and said oh. We can sell the game to you for the $89.99 and then you can sell it back to us as a trade in for $35 back.. wow. Thank you. So generous.... The girl also seemed forced to push the GT7 aspect apearing hesitant to tell me i could only buy GT7. So we walked out. I then called langford location and asked about this ps5 bundle. Funny...the bundle can be any game worth $89.99.
If you force bundles because scalpers exist by requiring a ton of extra things with each ps5 sale totalling over 1k. At least dont push a specific game. Also its odd to push away a sale of 1k because i dont like a racing game that isnt even attached in a real bundle.
If your in the market for a ps5 and dont mind the bundle (which is fine if you want 2 controllers and a game anyways or love gt7! but seriously a bundle usually has some sort of discount..) then go to the langford location for friendly staff and lots of stock. Now im gonna go...
Read moreI was very disappointed with my first two interactions with EB Games.
I was asked three times and four times on my only visits to EB Games if I wanted to buy an extended warranty. The fourth time I had to raise my voice to get through to the sales clerk. In both cases (two different clerks) implied that the game would probably break in the first year and that I would need their 1-year warranty. I don't know if a young person buying a game would be able to resist this type of pressure from an adult standing between them and their game.
I don't buy games for myself, but I do buy them as gifts. When I bought the wrong game as a gift, I was harassed for returning an item that was clearly sealed in the original packaging despite the receipt saying that refunds are accepted within 30 days if unused and accompanied by the receipt. Furthermore, I was required to provide my driver's license for a simple return (with receipt). To test their incompetence I signed my credit card as Mickey Mouse, which they didn't care about. I hope nobody steals your credit card and uses it at EB Games.
I'll...
