Ono Poké and Grill — Restaurant in Victoria

I had a complaint which I submitted to their website to which I did not receive a response. So I emailed them to which I also did not receive a response. I followed up 3 days later to which I received no response again and now another 4 days later still nothing so I am writing this review. Let’s see if they respond now to try and protect their image, even though if I didn’t go public with it I would receive no response.

I would highly recommend that you do not come to this restaurant. We were served our food and I didn’t really pay too much attention to what the girl was putting in but I did notice the portion of ribs was small but she said as the portion is a little smaller, she’d give us a 1 (small) chicken wing to make up for the portion. We paid and took our food- $48.98. This included an almost $5 tip which now I don’t even know why I did that because it was not deserved. We sat down and started eating only to realise how small the portion really was. And I’m not talking just a little bit smaller. The portion was so small I wouldn’t even consider it a child’s portion. I had 6 extremely small bones which had barely any meat on them, I literally had 2 mouthfuls of meat and that was it. I did not go and speak to the girl who served us as she was young and I didn’t want to give her a hard time/ be confrontational because that’s just not me. I am so disappointed with Hillside ono poke, few times I had horrible service, I always try give chances to see if it improved. 3 weeks ago I ordered to go, girl was unpleasant to talk to, she was very rude. I made my own bowl, she wasn't looking at me, staring off in space, I had to repeat myself consistently. She would ask " huh?" What do you want?. I asked her three times how much protein comes with a large and she ignored me. I just continue as I was hungry and on my lunch break. I asked 4 proteins, she said it be extra charge. Again asked how much can I have, she mumbled something. I was about to give up and go somewhere else. I keep being patient and got my food, no thank you, didn't ask if I want drink or nothing out of this girl. I understand we have bad days, but this is not how to run business for loyal customers. Second time we ordered through app, I had ordered few sauces and ONLY got sesame seed sauce ( a mountain of it) what the heck? My son ordered ribs/chicken meal. Ribs were ALL bones with tinny bit of meat, had 3 pieces of chicken. Hardly any sauce, food was so tasteless. This last time I'll buy food from Hillside location. Don't go there, worst service I had ever received. You definitely never forget...

I've been to the Mayfair one a few times and loved it so tried this location. I always order the same thing, from the menu not build your own. First time I went here and ordered the person making it only gave me one of the sides it's supposed to have, I asked about the other and she told me it would cost extra, I was confused but went along with it thinking maybe Mayfair was just extra nice. Decided to try it again last week (after being back to Mayfair and confirming the menu item) and even though I didn't order a build your own the girl making it kept asking what I wanted and I kept saying "whatever it comes with" but then she didn't add anything unless I specifically said what to add and so then I ended up with less than what I should've gotten. I guess the lesson is if you go to this location just build your own because if you order off the menu...
