Saigon Char-Broil - Hillside Centre — Restaurant in Victoria

Actually had to ask for a refund. Never do I end up in this situation, so that's significant. I have been to every version of Saigon charbroil in Victoria and I am a huge fan of pho soup. This was absolutely disgusting. Not only did the staff not know what they were serving they didn't understand what skimming was and had not removed any of the fat from their " broth ", which was little more than a puddle of oil I could not choke it down and they didn't even understand what they did wrong because they are completely untrained. I gently tried to explain how to properly prepare the broth and they stared at me stunned, told that they were never informed to do anything to the broth other than boil meat in it and scoop from the top.

I do not recommend eating here at all and I highly recommend if anyone sees this review they engage in staff retraining across the board. Some locations offer tendon in their soup and this one does not which is fine except when I asked about it they didn't even know what I was talking about and were completely unaware of menu items that are available at other locations. now as a franchise this could be excusable because staff wouldn't be in contact with other stores however considering that they are selling a food product that has a particular brand label on it they should be aware of what is often included in that food especially under other places that have the same name as this one.

In the end because they do not know how to make their food they were unable to remake it for me. Please do not order soup here. I cannot emphasize enough how...

I asked if the vermicelli plate was like a salad that you mixed with a dressing. She didn't understand what I said and kept telling me over and over again to look at the picture. We both took off our masks to clarify. Same response and did not bother to explain. I ordered and it cost nearly 18 dollars plus tip. Then the other server reached into the vermicelli warmer with the same gloves she used to make the previous order. She pulled out the noodles with her gloves and used no utensils. She didn't change gloves before or after. She touched other utensils too. That is not food safe. The spring roll was burnt and over cooked and had black spots.. the meat was over cooked. Tried to use a gift card here. They tried to punch it in as a pre paid visa. Didn't work. Weird considering we are using a gift card huh? Needless to say they didn't bother to try anything else. Just kept trying to use pre paid credit option. Nowhere on the gift card does it say visa. Or mastercard. This implies laziness and an unwillingness to accept a gift card which is aggregating.
