New York Fries Hillside — Restaurant in Victoria

I have eaten at New York Fries many, many times since the 90’s. A couple of weeks ago I went to the Hillside mall location and ordered my usual Bacon Double Cheese Poutine. When they put the cheese sause on the poutine it came out looking like water (clear and runny). The poutine tasted like absolute GARBAGE!!! I went back to the counter for them to make it right. They told me that the cheese had changed and that’s what I get. I said “This is unacceptable and I want a refund”. They refused so I threw the poutine in their garbage right in front of them! I went to a different mall today and checked. The cheese is the NORMAL YELLOW CHEESE as always and they said they never had it changed! The Hillside mall location is a bunch of dishonest employees who have no clue what customer service is. I WOULD NOT SUGGEST THIS...

When I was younger, and I cruised the mall, I would always hit up new York fries. They made the best fast food poutine.

Unfortunately these days it seems fast is the only part they cared about. I went in during lunch, and in what I assume was an attempt to keep things moving, I received a poutine that was light on gravy (it used to coat the fries... Now you can hardly tell its there), and light on cooking the fries thoroughly. When depe fryers have timers, I'm hard pressed to understand why the fries couldn't be cooked the whole way through.

I enjoy all the options they have now, but maybe they should focus on keeping it simple again and putting out a good poutine....

I'm a huge fan of the poutine at New York Fries, especially the Bacon Double Cheese poutine—it's absolutely fantastic! The flavors are on point, and I'd easily rate the food a solid 5 stars. What truly stands out is the exceptional service. The staff is not only friendly but also incredibly prompt. A special shoutout to Jemor, who served my food with a smile and added to the positive experience. His attentiveness and great service deserve a well-earned 5-star rating. Overall, I can't recommend the poutine enough, and the exceptional service makes the experience...
