The views of H.K.'s harbour and city skyline are amazing in this short, 5 - 15-minute ride. Boats from here only go to Tsim Sha Tsui, which is essentially north of the harbour.
Take note that this is a form of public transport in the region and thus, does not categorise as a service entirely meant for tourism. So, don't expect fancy-looking ferries with air conditioning. The seats are somewhat comfortable. I am not sure about how crowds would go about since I took the ferry in the early hours of the day (7 - 8 AM).
Ticket prices (I believe) are fairly cheap, considering the views one would get (of the city) and the ample opportunities for photographs. Follow the signs for the token gates. You would have to obtain a token from the machine (using money), and then insert that token into the gate. Like I said earlier, the infrastructure is not very 'fancy' and modern. So, expect yourself to be confused. There is a staff member on standby at the gates.
Just be sure to hold on to your camera (as there are no windows) when the ferry is cruising...

I took the ferry from Central to Tsim Sha Tsui at pier no. 7. You don't have to worry you will lost the way, as you can see a lot of sign board along the way.
If you are walking from the IFC center, you follow the sign board, you will go to the upper deck of ferry, many tourist will go this way, so will be quite crowded.
Alternatively, you can take staircase, or lift go down one level, level U. It is lower deck, no much people there, you can enjoy the view too.

The ticket can pay by credit card, alipay, etc. Octopus also acceptable, for octopus is reletively easy, just tap and go, no need to purchase ticket in advance.
Adult for upper deck is HKD 5 lower...
Read moreThe pier was divided into two levels, which led to different decks on the ferry. Sometimes, there was a long queue in the pier. However, the visitors were just lining up to buy the tokens for the trip. If an octopus card was used, there were other gates at the entrance and usually much faster than using the tokens. Transparent wind shields were installed in the waiting area so that the harbour view could still be retained. The ferry berthing and gangway arrangement was in order. Passengers embarking and disembarking were smooth. Although the fare was changed, the ferry journey was still a...
