We originally ordered the 6-piece sushi set of the day ($168), which was supposed to include akagai (ark shell), uni (sea urchin), chutoro (medium-fatty tuna), and three other types of fish. We also ordered the seasonal 7-piece sashimi set ($295), which included half a fish, fresh scallop, red shrimp, akagai, and a few other types of fish.
When placing the order, the staff informed us that the fish used for the “half a fish” in the sashimi set was sold out and would be replaced with another fish — we said that was fine.
However, when the sushi arrived, we noticed there was no akagai. Upon asking the staff, we were told that it had already sold out and had been replaced with kinmedai (golden eye snapper) without notifying us. I mentioned that the staff didn’t inform us when we ordered, and another staff member offered to refund us, but we declined because we didn’t want to go through the hassle of choosing something else.
At that moment, we remembered the sashimi set was also supposed to include akagai. We checked again, and the staff said it would also be replaced with kinmedai. But I wasn’t really in the mood for more kinmedai (there was already one piece). In the end, they substituted it with hamachi (yellowtail) instead.
The uni tasted just average, with a noticeable taste of alum (myoban).
Also, there were insects constantly flying around and hovering near us...
Read moreExtremely poor table management and service. We waited nearly 50 minutes for a table, only to discover that half the restaurant was empty when we were finally seated. Two young female staff members inside the restaurant were standing around, chatting and doing almost nothing the entire time. Meanwhile, the two middle-aged staff at the entrance were clearly overwhelmed—checking customers in, handling payments, and setting up tables with no visible support.
When our food was delayed, I asked one of the young staff members about our order and was told, quite bluntly, that I hadn’t ordered—even though I clearly had. Moments later, the dish appeared, proving she had in fact placed the order but clearly had no idea what was going on. No apology, no accountability.
The food was average at best, but the wait times and the dismissive, unprofessional attitude from some of the staff made the experience incredibly frustrating. There is a clear lack of leadership and care for customer experience. The poor service matches their low ratings—and after this visit, I can...
Read moreI think the staff needs training. They are either not polite or they don’t understand what customer order? When I ask about if there s any lunch set, the waitress ( ponytail and with glass) gave an awful look and said this is not available. Then I was ordering with the menu with other waiter (the tall one with glass) I pointed the image of 玉子壽司with柚皮. He looks stupid and ask if I should order one without rice? How odd is that? I literally shows him every image when I order from the menu but he kept asking stupid things? I just feel annoyed while having lunch as they keep walking and take away my plates whenever I m done. This is not efficient but a bit rude from a customer point of view. What a disappointing experience when I can get better service and good food in other sushi place...
