Dozed off on the ferry and had my Phone stolen out of my pocket, watch snatched off my wrist and the ferry company won't even let me or the police see the CCTV
While the evidence and GPS tracking of my phone and watch points loosely to ferry staff actually having committed the theft, I'm not here to say for certain that they did it. What I am here to say is that the ferry company that runs the slow ferry has been absolutely obstructionist with regards to solving this crime. I was told by the police to ask them to see the CCTV and was told by the ferry company that only the police could schedule an appointment to see the CCTV. When the police arrived, they were told that they couldn't see the CCTV and that I would have to escalate this and file a police report in central. 6 hours filing paperwork and a week later, nothing.
Theft is one thing, especially one this brazen but to be actively obstructed by the ferry company to the point that the police can't even help is... well I guess it casts a rather large shadow over the future...

Unluckily, the single unhappiest woman in the work would only bark out 'You must buy new ticket! No upgrade!' So after arguing about how silly it was to punish a tourist by essentially making them buy a new ticket just so they could sit outside, I just paid for a brand new ticket. Yes, I'm only out $13 HKD, but still, what a horrible woman. Tread...

Recently used First Ferry for a journey between Central Pier 5 and Cheung Chau and found my ferry trips to be just fine. Inside seating areas are standard and of little interest. Sailings went smoothly and were on time. Little more to comment other than finding First Ferry service on this route to be just fine and...
