Likes: 1. Location is super central. Right near the train station, also right next to Lan Kwai Fong for some nice bars and food. 2. Staff were also friendly at the front counter and when you asked for something there was no questions asked and they gave you items straight away. 3. Water refill station in the lobby that also had hot and cold water 4. For the location, it is actually the cheapest place available, so you do get what your paying for. Dislikes: 1. Getting to Mini Central, even though its “central” to everything, it is up on a hill so walking with suitcases was a work out on the legs. 2. Rooms are basically 2 metres x 2 metres. Toilet and shower are also connected to the rook which make the room damp. 3. When the room got damp, the wooden floorboards would get damp and would squish down. When they would squish down, old water would come up through the cracks, and that old water would be dirty as we chucked a towel on the ground to soak it up and the water was brown stained on the towel. (Seen in the photo) 4. Our pillow had a blood stain on it as we first arrived and we wondered if the bed sheets actually got changed. 5. The air conditioning temperature had a temperature change switch but it did not change so it was permanently stuck on the coldest temperature. 6. Be prepared that they do not clean your room if you stay below 14 days, and even then it is only changing the sheets once per week. 7. I think it is also the smallest sink I have seen in my life.

Mini Hotel offers short rent options in two locations in Hong Kong: Causeway Bay and Central. Both locations are in the heart of the city so getting around is cheap and fast with MTR, buses or taxis. We chose Central hotel. We stayed in Smart plus balcony room with amazing view. Inside 4.5ft room you will get everything you need: so comfortable bed with high quality bedding, shower, TV, hair drier, kettle, space for your suitcase under the bed, a lot of charging connectors, air conditioner, disposable towels. I would advice to have your own towel if you plan to wash hair since disposable towel if not convenient for hair. Additionally you won't find such balcony in 5 star hotels! There is a cosy terrace with a great view to chill or do yoga on the highest floor. There is a self service laundry there too. There is possibility for self check-in in lobby of hotel. It’s convenient if you don’t want to wait in the queue and ready to check your room asap! Mini Central offers trendy accommodation and even lobby looks like art gallery! You can buy here so many cool things. I liked even just to sit there to look at all details. You can buy some food and drinks at vending machine and at a small cafe in lobby of hotel. Additionally you can find there even slippers and toothbrush for your comfortable staying. Staff is very nice and polite. I don’t understand negative reviews. We communicated with cleaners, people on reception. All of them were so kind and nice.

Please, please, please, avoid. Hotel makes up rules as they go. Booking does not match the actual room & services. I’ve never had a more unfriendly, unhelpful & rude receptionist than during my current check-in. Full story: I booked through Agoda, and on Agoda it says the room has a window. I get to my room: it has no window. I go downstairs and request the right room and they tell me this: “The information on the platform is wrong. That’s not our problem. You should contact your agent. If you want a room with a window, you need to pay extra.” I told them that I paid for a room with a window, and that they manage their listings, to which they told me: “I don’t manage anything. If you want a city view, pay up.” 2nd: the booking says they provide towels. On the pictures you see proper towels. I get to my room, they gave me a paper towel. A paper towel! For 3 days! Lastly: apparently they also no longer provide housekeeping for shorter stays, although that’s also listed in my booking… at this point, I’m looking to cancel with full refund, because this place is cutting corners everywhere they can. Big cash grab, and their attitude tells me they’ve been getting away with it too. In the meantime, I’m contacting Agoda, but in general, just avoid this place. There’s a reason this place has only 3 stars overall. :/

Room was very dirty. Unbelievably humid, the ventilation and AC are unable to do their job, you are either super cold, or warm and humid. During my stay I had to move the dehumidifier to a not so large room to fix the “weather” indoor and every 6 hours the water tank is full. Without AC or dehumidifier, your floor will start to get very wet, and the dehumidifier was taking a lot of space so imagine moving around in a small dirty room and staying with another person plus the hot shower steam. They really need to install an window in each room and ventilate the whole floor once in a while. The building structure itself makes the stay very difficult and it shouldn’t be as accommodation purposes. The sound isolation was bad, can hear your neighbors very well, the doors do not have silencer so do expect slamming doors at your floor. The corridor is warm and humid as well, the building is too old and unable to ventilate properly so do expect you are going to wait for elevator in your sweat. The bed was uneven as I believe my room was supposed to be a solo room, so they just put a larger mattress on a solo bed frame. The hard mattress was very crooked and uncomfortable. The linens were also dirty and the pillows were very lumpy and old. I barely slept during my stay. The shower was dirty and sometimes could be smelly. The shower pipe was broken during the stay, and hot and cold water were unstable and difficult to find a balance of temperature. And not to mention the transparency of the toilet. There is no privacy and it’s super inconvenience if you are staying with someone, or needed to open the door. And the mirror by the entrance makes you very visible even you hide behind the door. I stayed 12 nights but the cleaning team never refilled any supply like water and coffee, could have just leave items at the door. Vending machine is nice, but could be pricey. Staff are very friendly, but they cannot solve the hotel hardware problem. They really tried their best at work, but for most of the issues there is nothing they can do. Definitely not...

I have travelled much of the world and this ranks as one of the worst hotels I have stayed in. Do NOT stay here. I am writing this to help others. The only reason I booked this despite the mainly negative reviews here was because I come to Hong Kong often and have stayed in the Causeway Bay branch many times. That is way better. I gave that a 5 rating and this a 1. I thought based on that, it must be the same. How wrong was I. First and last time at Central. We know it is mini, but this room was just badly designed. The person who designed this lacked common sense! Even the disposable towels despite being thin and not being able to dry yourself properly, I can allow. What I can't is that the room was FILTHY. There was mould, grime and hairs in my room. Gross! In Causeway Bay, rooms have a window, here there was no window. It was like a prison cell. The toilet had a horrible smell. Causeway Bay do housecleaning everyday. Here it is done apparently every 5 days. If you have any litter then leave it outside your room and a member of housekeeping will collect it. The hallways looked like a rubbish dump. WIFI worked well at times, but kept disconnecting especially late at night. Staff are beyond rude and unfriendly. In Causeway Bay they are way nicer. In all my years travelling, I have NEVER had to pay for a hotel to store my luggage after checking out. I had no choice as I had a late evening flight. I know it was only 10 HKD but it is the principal. Baggage storage is usually free of charge. I used to be out all day and come back late at night to avoid going to my room! The only positives are location which is in the heart of Central and the lobby area with the comfy sofas were nice. Otherwise, I WOULD NOT STAY HERE AGAIN, EVEN IF YOU PAID ME. Do yourself a favour and either book the branch in Causeway Bay or...
