Nestled along the vibrant Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront, Watermark is a delightful coastal restaurant that effortlessly combines elegance with a relaxed, seaside ambiance.
Housed within the iconic Star House near the Hong Kong Cultural Centre, this gem offers stunning panoramic views of Victoria Harbour and the glittering skyline of Hong Kong Island, making it an ideal spot for both romantic dinners and lively gatherings with friends.
Watermark’s menu is a celebration of culinary diversity, with a strong focus on fresh seafood that showcases the bounty of the ocean. From succulent grilled prawns to perfectly seared scallops, each dish is crafted with precision and presented with flair. The restaurant also excels in its pasta offerings, with highlights like creamy lobster linguine and classic carbonara that strike a balance between indulgent and refined. For meat lovers, the menu doesn’t disappoint—think tender Wagyu beef striploin or herb-crusted lamb chops, cooked to perfection and paired with thoughtfully selected sides. The wine list is equally impressive, featuring a curated selection of Old and New World vintages that complement the coastal-inspired cuisine.
The atmosphere at Watermark is nothing short of captivating. The interior is brilliantly lit, with floor-to-ceiling windows that flood the space with natural light during the day and reflect the harbor’s twinkling lights at night. The decor is sleek yet inviting, blending modern sophistication with nautical touches that nod to its waterfront location. Whether you’re seated at a table overlooking the pier or in a cozy corner, the view across the water—complete with passing ferries and the distant hum of the city—creates a mesmerizing backdrop that elevates every meal.
What sets Watermark apart is its ability to transition seamlessly from a fine-dining experience to a launchpad for a night out. After savoring a leisurely meal, it’s a short stroll to Pier 7, a chic rooftop bar just minutes away at the Star Ferry Pier. Pier 7’s open-air setting and craft cocktails make it the perfect spot for a late-hour drink, allowing you to extend the evening with harbor breezes and unbeatable views. This combination of Watermark’s culinary excellence and Pier 7’s vibrant nightlife makes for an unforgettable Hong Kong experience.
Service at Watermark is attentive yet unobtrusive, with staff who are knowledgeable about the menu and eager to recommend pairings or accommodate dietary preferences. While the restaurant leans toward the pricier side, the quality of the food, the breathtaking setting, and the overall experience justify the cost for a special occasion or a treat-yourself evening.
Recommendation: Reserve a table at sunset to catch the harbor’s golden hour glow, and don’t skip dessert—their signature chocolate lava cake with a scoop of artisanal ice cream is divine. After dinner, head to Pier 7 for a nightcap under the stars. Watermark is more than a meal; it’s a sensory journey that captures the essence of Hong Kong’s...
