This market is the best reason to stay in Hong Kong side, if staying longer than a week. I am from The Philippines, so eating out three times a day when in HK for a 10-day vacation (at a time) can be prohibitive, if not punishing. The meat and seafoods are fresh, and so are the vegetables - on the cheap side, too. Eggs are a dollar at most, compared to 2-3HKD ea at Park N Shop or Wellcome, and both are literally stones throw away.
