Nakúa: Stay & Work - Provenza — Hotel in Medellín

This place has been a disaster from the first moment we walked in: very loud construction noise from all directions, the staff at the reception is completely incompetent and unhelpful. The official check in time is 3:00 PM. We were told that the room would be ready at 2:30 PM. After arriving to the reception, the employee tells us that it’s going to be 15 minutes more until we get the room. I was almost passing out from heat, no air conditioning and extremely loud construction noises. At 15:50 (more than an hour of promised waiting time), we were finally given the key to our room. While waiting, the staff paid zero attention to the heat exhaustion, dehydration and obvious discomfort. Not even a glass of water was offered. Upon the arrival to the room, the cleaning staff was still mopping the floors. As I worked in hospitality in the past, I completely understand different circumstances that might create such problems for customers. What was shocking is the lack of communication, empathy and willingness to make the uncomfortable experience a bit more pleasant. Lovely boutique hotel, very modern & centrally located to all the nightlife. It also felt safe generally. Price were abit on the high side but we booked it early and for a reasonable price we managed to book a room with an outdoor jacuzzi and balcony which helps because the room is too small for 2. Bed was also small and on the hard side. The good thing is that we can unwind in our little sanctuary/jacuzzi, with the loud club music playing in the background. A little bit of young vibe and music without actually going out on the streets which can very hectic. Once the doors are closed, the music that is playing from the clubs is pretty much reduced, they even give you earplugs. Location location heart of the action- the hotel is gorgeous with esquite attention to detail. We took the Jacuzzi room which had a good sized space and did not feel cramped. The best thing about the hotel is it in the top location for restaurants and bars. As such, it can get noisy on Friday and Saturday but the air plugs provided by the hotel gave us a good night sleep. Additionally, there is good restaurant on site for breakfast with amazing cocktails and food. Also, it has a co working space with high speed internet and conference rooms.
