I finally found a place, here in Costa Rica, that has an amazing steak! I had the Prime Rib special and OMG that sooo hit the spot. First of all the seasonings were incredible, it was cooked to perfection & it was huge! Melted in mouth. The sides were all yummy. Potato Au Gratin very flavorful & cheesy. Mustard Greens! Oh yeah baby they were awesome! My hubby had the Turkey which was moist and flavorful. The Mac-n-Cheese and green beans were great too. Oh and the Pecan pie & Apple Pie was to die for. I think next time I need to order the whole pie it was that good. Oh and let’s not forget the yummy red wine. Anyone who lives here knows it’s hard to find good red wine and steak. The Butcher Block passed both tests. This team knows what they’re doing. So excited to try more of their menu options. This has taken the lead of my favorite restaurant. Oh and I forgot to mention that I had everything delivered and everything was packaged up really well. So impressed. Thank you everyone.
Need to add more to my last review. If you haven’t tried the Blue Cheese Martini you must! It’s so yummy and not overpowering with blue cheese. It’s so creative and addictive 🤣. I also loved the brisket rolls and bone marrow appetizers. Wow delicious and filling. Melt in your mouth with a...
Read moreA Quepos Gem! We hit The Butcher Block on our last night in Quepos, and man… we seriously saved one of the best for last. This place is a legit — think American BBQ kissed with Costa Rican flair, served in a vibe-heavy spot you probably didn’t even know existed.
Located near the marina (which we somehow missed until tonight… oops), this little cluster of shops and bars is worth a detour from the usual Manuel Antonio strip. Don’t sleep on it.
Now for the food — we kicked things off with the taco flight (fried shrimp, grilled mahi mahi, and brisket). Heavy hitter right out the gate. No skimpy portions here, and the pineapple slaw was the kind of extra touch that makes you want to high-five the kitchen.
For mains, we shared the hot honey chicken sandwich and BB’s House Chifrijo — both absolutely nailed it. Perfectly seasoned, generously portioned, and served with a selection of house-made sauces that had me doing that obnoxious happy food dance.
We should’ve stopped there, but we’re not quitters. Enter: dulce de leche cheesecake. I was stuffed beyond reason, but still managed to put a respectable dent in it. No regrets.
Service? Spot-on. Ambiance? Chill but polished. If you’re anywhere near Quepos, this spot needs to be on your list. Go hungry....
Read moreBeing Texan, it was so fun to visit this Restaurant here in Costa. We were NOT disappointed! REAL Texas experience in Costa Rica! 🤠
First off, the food... Absolutely outstanding! Steaks were tender, juicy, flavorful-made with real smoke and fire. I believe a Texas family owns this place and Jerry (whom you'll see named in places on the menu, runs and manages it. It's a well oiled machine and all the staff is on top of their game. You can expect a fine dining experience.)
-Country music playing -You can see the cooks working their magic in the center of the room. Smokers and grills create a real Texas steakhouse vibe. -Complete front glass view with a direct view of the marina and sunsets on the ocean. -Restaurant located on the second floor. -Complete bar to fulfill your every drink need! Dirty martini, ice cold and so refreshing. -Steaks are huge and cooked to order. Perfect char on the outside, served with chimichurri. -Staff and management-Happy and their customers are well cared for. -The restaurant is located on the 2nd floor. -Pricy, but you get what you pay for! Worth it. (You'll be wanting to write your own five-star review once finished.) Large portions and great food! God bless Texas and God bless Costa...
