5-Day Nile Cruise Tour from Luxor To Aswan This is the best tour we have ever been on! We are still in awe over the entire experience :) From the minute we landed and were picked up at the airport by our guide John, we felt completely and utterly spoilt and were able to instantly relax and enjoy our adventure as it was clear that everything had been so thoroughly taken care of. The cruise ship (Steigenberger REGENCY) that we were sailing on had everything you could possibly want - a peaceful environment with many areas to chill (the rooftop & pool were our favorite!) and clean and spacious rooms, delicious food plus a lovely, friendly, attentive staff. We love to explore and travel but there is no way we would have ever been able to make such an incredible itinerary fit into 5 days on our own and travelling down the nile by boat was the perfect way to see as much as possible. Along with this being a once in a life time trip, our guide John made it 10000 times better than we could have ever dreamed of! The tour itself was unlike anything else we had experienced before - we were pleasantly surprised and excited when we realized how intimate the guiding was going to be. It was a private tour, so there was no giant coaches, rushing site to site and waiting on other strangers. Instead, the tour was much more flexible and we had a lot more freedom to personalize the itinerary. John's knowledge of all the sites and history was impeccable and we were able to ask as many questions as possible. It was also really nice to get to know John as a local Luxor resident, and we felt like he added a personal insight to Egypt that was invaluable and something we wouldn't get on all tours. Fantastic Nile Cruise with Journey to Egypt.

We recently completed a four-night, five-day Nile cruise from Luxor to Aswan with Journey to Egypt, and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish.

Communication was excellent both before and during the trip, ensuring everything ran smoothly. Our tour guide, John, was outstanding—friendly, engaging, and incredibly knowledgeable about Egypt’s rich history, which added so much depth to our experience.

We sailed on the Steigenberger Legacy, a wonderful boat with large, comfortable cabins, superb food throughout, and attentive staff who made sure we were well looked after. The itinerary was exceptionally well planned, allowing us to see some of Egypt’s most incredible sights. Luxor and Karnak Temples were breathtaking, and exploring the Valley of the Kings was a particular highlight—we really appreciated having the option to choose which tombs to visit. The stops at Edfu and Kom Ombo were fascinating and perfectly timed, giving us a deeper understanding of Egypt’s past. One of the most memorable parts of the journey was simply sailing the Nile, watching life unfold along its banks—a truly special experience.

We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Journey to Egypt to anyone considering a trip. Everything was exceptionally well-organized, and we felt completely safe throughout, thanks to both the professionalism of JTE and the careful oversight of local authorities. My "Journey to Egypt" was EPIC! No other word seems appropriate to describe it. Everything was amazing. Everything was beyond my expectation. The tour started off with Mohammed picking me up at the airport. He arranged that I was first in line for my Visa, for immigration and customs, talk about VIP services. We breezed through Cairo airport. My room in Cairo was pyramid view, I spent the evenings on my balcony watching the sun faded over them. Sally is an exceptional tour guide and Egyptologist. I learned so much from her and enjoyed her company immensely. The cruise along the Nile on the Merriam was stupendous, the boat is gorgeous....and the food....OMG. The scenery was spectacular. Visiting the different temples along the way was a dream come true. The Valley of the Kings is not to be missed. A big thanks to Peter another amazing guide and Micheal our driver. I spent the last of my tour in Hurghada on the Red Sea for some R&R. Perfect way to end a perfect experience. Egypt is an experience, not just a trip. A learning journey like no other. We owe so much to the Egyptians! Last but not least my most gracious thank you to Osama. Osama was completely dedicated to making sure I had the trip of a lifetime.
