The food is tasty, but the portions are way too small by Egyptian standards, especially for the price.
Go to Nubian house on the West bank to see what a tajine portion is really supposed to look like. At Aisha, it’s a small portion of tajine plus a small portion of rice. In other places, the portions are bigger, plus they actually include sides such as soups, vegetable tajines and salads.
The service was also not so prompt, and we even had to request a salad even though it was included in the meal per the menu.
The table next to us had a birthday cake (Happy birthday, Simon!) and they wanted to share some with us. We just passed plates and cutlery around from their table, as if the restaurant didn’t have waiters.

We were a little apprehensive about the food quality at first even though the menu looked good, but we were pleasantly surprised to say the least! We were given warm bread to start with, and we all had either starters or soups, which were all hearty and delicious. The manager/owner regularly checked on us and was very friendly. Portions were a bit too small for everybody’s liking, but the price range similar to other touristic restaurants and of lesser quality, makes that an acceptable compromise (quality vs quantity, at same price) Bread was reheated, then dried quickly (not fresh from the day, it seemed). A disappointment for something that cheap and that easy to win.
Service was slightly above average, but a bit too insistent in clearing out when some people were still eating.
