The only thing positive about this hotel was the Nile view. The hotel itself could be really good but service is awful.
Cons:
-They only accept cash, no credit card! -THERE IS NO INTERNET CONNECTION WHATSOEVER IN THE ROOM! be careful! It’s so tricky. What kind of 4 star hotel doesn’t have internet in the room??? Such a shame. -breakfast is terrible, not fresh at all and tasteless: terrible foul, old lancheon and cheese, very oily eggs and not tasty, juices are not fresh and full of sugar and so on(but room service food is not bad honestly). the staff in the kitchen are very rough and not nice at all except the waiter OSAMA (always smiling and accommodating and the laundry service which was fast and efficient and professional. the cleaning ladies were a nightmare they shouted and fought loudly in the floor almost every morning (and there is echo so it’s much louder) regardless of people in the room sleeping or working it was unbelievable. I had to call the reception twice to complain to make it stop! there is no kettle in the room, no tea, no water, no toiletries except for 4 mini bottles of SHAMPOO (not even shower gel) and a soap. No hairdryer and very basic bathroom (not even that clean there were undefined stains on the toilet and on the walls, not to mention that they toilet papers rolls were not new , they seemed used before which is disgusting. I had to ask for a new one from one of the cleaning ladies. receptionists are ok, nothing exceptional or extra friendly and welcoming. I’m a bit disappointed. -half of the tv channels did not work.
PROs:
Overall the room was ok, nothing fancy but bed and pillows were comfy. The view was amazing honestly♥️. Laundry service was perfection fast and efficient. Position was really good you have mini supermarkets around and close to all attractions of Luxor.
I cannot comment on the cleaning service because I was sick and I didn’t want anyone to clean during my stay the only thing I can say is that they are VERY LOUD and not professional.
I would give this hotel 3 stars for the services offered....
Read moreWe were put up in the Lotus Hotel as part of our two day trip to Luxor to see kings of the valley, Kamala temple, etc and hot balloon ride.||||The place is very dated!||||Nice but very small balcony with a reasonable view onto the river Nile. ||||The lift is very slow and can only take 3 people (no good for families).||||The WiFi to the room was terrible (first floor and not streaming).||||No alcohol on the premises and the drink options were very poor. ||||The controls for the shower are outside the shower cubicle on the other side of the toilet?!?! No instructions regarding this?||||Bed was uncomfortable||||Breakfast was terrible||||Staff were ok ‘ish’ but no where near as attentive, polite or professional as the ones at Crystal Bay (Huagaha).||||We ventured out to see what was out there on the front but returned very quickly as the constant harassment was unnerving and left us feeling vulnerable. To be fair we were advised, by our lovely Egyptian tour guide to not to leave the hotel due to pickpockets and scammers but given the facilities (lack of) and state of the hotel we thought we’d have a wander out (mindful of the advice from the tour operator with me carrying my wife’s handbag!). The heavy police and army presence reassured us to some degree but also clearly evidences that there is an issue here.||||I wouldn’t recommend this hotel/immediate locality unless you get a really cheap deal and come in full knowledge...
Read moreBudget Luxury is how I would describe this hotel. It's a quiet oasis from the bustling streets of Luxor. Nestled in between two large hotel chains, this place has its own pool and glorious sunset set views of the River Nile. Staff are approachable and friendly, rooms are clean and a large breafast buffet selection. I booked with Sayed and he is very professional and accommodating. The Hotel can offer tours, make sure to haggle on price. We organised our tours through Hamees a lovely tour guide. When organising tours make sure to ask for a schedule detailing whats included and whats not included as it can avoid any potential misunderstandings around pricing. This is a general tip and not specific to the hotel. We had an amazing time at this hotel. Potential negatives-the hotel does not sell alcohol, however the hotel next door has a pool bar, so you could pop in there. Late check out also available. Food wise, the hotel has a restaurant but it's just not very clear where you can eat as there are so many areas, so make sure to ask for a menu. All in all, we had a...
