We were there on a calm weekend evening... The food was a welcome respite from the continuous exposure to Egyptian food. I am not saying Egyptian food is bad, but of course, being an Indian we long for Indian food after a while. We reached early - in fact, we were the first customer for the evening.
We ordered Jain dal with only jeera tadka, Alu Gobi, Roti, Rice and Egg do pyaza.
The senior citizen and child member enjoyed the food thoroughly.
We ate to our heart's content, had a couple of beer, listened to good music and used the clean washrooms.
💯 Recommended! Especially for tourists who are longing for indian food.
Thanks Bishoy for being such a delightful host.
P.S. Photos were taken after we had started and hence does not represent the true quantity. The egg do pyaza had 3 eggs in a plate and the delicious dal was enough...
Read moreOn entering the premises we were immediately plunged into darkness. It's very badly illuminated and the place looked as if it hadn't been decorated since the 80s.
The menu is not very extensive. It's the only Indian restaurant I've ever been in that didn't have nan bread, even though it was on the menu.
The food was on a par with a supermarket frozen Indian mea, in fact, Sainsbury's is better and if you like it spicy, forget about it. We ordered medium spice for fear that it might be too spicy if we ordered hot. We needn't have worried, on a scale of 0-10 of spiciness, our medium curries scored zero.
I honestly cannot understand how this place has so many positive reviews. We love Indian food and this is,without a doubt, the worst Indian restaurant we've ever tried.
Ignore these positive reviews and avoid this place...
Read moreFar from authentic indian food. I'm pretty sure that they do not have a proper tandoor, and their chicken tikka, tandoori shrimp, and naan were baked in a normal oven. They were out of tandoori chicken, so we got chicken tikka, but it was bland (basically tasted like unseasoned chicken breasts) and probably under marinated.
The naan was not nice and chewey and tasted like a baked frozen pizza dough, and the garlic naan was not savory at all and very dry. Frozen naan you can get on the internet was way better.
The butter chicken was edible, but was too sweet for my liking.
Overall I felt the place served very westernized indian food that was comparable to cheap indian cafeteria food from school in the States. My family went there given the great tripadvisor ratings, but we were...
