Update: Jan 2021: Our plans to meet and work with Florence in Paris in March 2020 were completely destroyed by the Covid crisis. However, Florence at French à La Carte was able to transition our instruction beautifully to online instruction via the internet. She quickly reformulated our instruction to a very interesting weekly meeting where we work on very specific areas of interest. Through these sessions we are able to not only advance our french skills but have truly enjoyed sharing discussions of our counties difficulties and successes in the pandemic struggle. We would (and have) recommend Florence and French à La Carte to anyone without reservation, as the absolute best institution to get top flight customized instruction.

I highly recommend the services provided and received by French A La Carte. I recently went to Paris to spend a week to improve my basic French language skills. I chose to go alone without my family so I could totally immerse myself in the language, culture and experience.

In the past I had unsatisfactory experiences with language tutors in the USA so I arrived in Paris quite concerned and skeptic. Little did I know that I was going to have a great learning and cultural experience!

My French tutor was Matthieu (Mon Prof.) and he provided me with the best language instruction I have yet to receive. Lessons were fun, useful and informative. Our tour of the city was fabulous. I truly looked forward to each lesson and found that my knowledge of the language was improving better than I expected. During our first lesson Matthieu listened to my expectations and goals. Matthieu provided instruction, materials and suggestions to help meet and exceed my goals. If you are looking to learn French and have FUN doing so I highly recommend Matthieu. Matthieu made each lesson a truly great French experience. While learning the language I also learned about Paris, French culture and history (all were part of my goals); A great experience all around. I was supposed to leave Paris on Saturday to spend a day in Bordeaux but cancelled my trip to have 1 extra day of instruction. I will be back and hope to continue my lessons as well as have my children attend separately to learn to enjoy and love French, France and Paris as I did.

Magnifique! I had taken a walking tour of a neighborhood in French with Florence last year and wanted to continued with something more structured. I just returned from Paris where I enjoyed and profited from a two week class with Florence and Sophie. "French à la Carte" is more than just a catchy brand name. Florence and her team truly built a course perfectly tailored to my level of proficiency, my schedule, my budget, and my interests. Before designing the course, I sat for a brief interview with Florence on Zoom so she could gauge my French. She also asked me which topics interested me (art, history, sports, politics, photography, etc. ) She then presented me with a schedule and a budget. When I got to Paris, I enjoyed many hours of one-on-one conversation and tutelage, sometimes with Florence and sometimes with Sophie They were both very nice, patient, and forgiving of my many mistakes. I found the course challenging and enjoyable. At my request, we spent about half of each session working on grammar and the second half discussing various topics which interest me. After each session, I was given a summary of the key concepts we had been working on. The team put in much more work than just the time we spent together. It was definitely a good value. They truly customized the program for me. My comprehension and confidence level greatly improved in just two weeks.
