I MUST write a review of this place because it was one of our top 3 highlights of Paris! (Yes it is that serious :D). We decided to find a quick bite to eat near our hotel with good reviews. This had some of the highest reviews so we decided to stop in. Immediately upon coming into the store, we quickly became friends with the owner Mr. Tom Cruise Junior. He is such a HILARIOUS and sweet guy. We did not stop laughing the entire time. He greeted us immediately in English and invited us to sit down and was quick to start recommending some great things from the menu. He told my husband he had something special to make him that he would love and he was totally right!
The entire experience was fantastic. He was very entertaining and we enjoyed talking to him the whole time. He added a personal touch to each of our plates and was very attentive. There was another family eating when we came and he switched to speaking Spanish to them. We probably heard him speak at least 4 languages while we were there, which was so awesome to see someone who is so personal with his customers.
We ended up coming back two more times (twice in the same day) purely because of his great personality and food. Speaking of the food.. there are SO many wonderful options and they are all delicious. We had the Rivoli and New York sandwiches, a chicken crepe, and Nutella crepes while we were there. All of the staff was so funny and kind and you could tell they enjoyed working together and interacting with the customers. Mr. Tom Cruise junior did some very funny impressions of Trump (we are from USA) and was just so easy to talk to. He is very attentive to his customers.
He even gave us a discount the first time we ate there and a complimentary chocolate mousse (which was very kind and something he did not have to do). The next morning was our last day in Paris and so we got up as soon as they opened to have crepes here. Unfortunately Mr. Tom Cruise wasn't working yet, but the gentleman who was, was also very kind and funny. He told us when our friend would be working that day (so of course we came back for lunch). We were kind of in a rush because we had tickets to the Museum D'Orsay before heading to Versailles. He said not to worry and got us our food, and entertainment before we left. He started us off with a free hot chocolate because he said we were friends now. (Of course we did not come here expecting anything free, he is just such a nice guy). He took amazing care of us every time we came in, and the entire staff is very personable.
Mr. Tom Cruise Jr. was a big highlight of our week trip to Paris and I wish we had found his cafe sooner. When we return to Paris, we will be staying in the same hotel which is around the corner from Happy Caffe (not even a minute long walk), and we can't wait to see our friend again. Yes, I really consider him a friend. He is a great person to go meet and he will make your experience enjoyable! He is also very funny and sweet with the families and children that came into the shop.
Do not hesitate to go here and enjoy something to eat. They are also open ALL day from 8 am to 10 pm. They are hard workers, and very efficient. We loved our experience here
Read moreNestled in the charming streets of Paris, Happy Cafe offers a cafe culinary experience that captures the essence of French breakfast. During my recent visit, I had the pleasure of trying their ham and cheese crepe, accompanied by a refreshing glass of freshly squeezed orange juice.
The ham and cheese crepe was good. Although busy at the cafe, my crepe was cooked to perfection—golden brown and slightly crispy on the edges while remaining soft and tender in the center. The filling was generous, featuring ham that was savory without being overpowering, and a gooey, melted cheese that added a delightful richness. The balance of flavors was as intended with the saltiness of the ham harmonizing beautifully with the creaminess of the cheese.
To complement the savory crepe, I ordered a glass of their freshly squeezed orange juice. It was vibrant and refreshing, with just the right amount of sweetness and a hint of tanginess that made it the perfect palate cleanser. The juice was served chilled, and you could taste the quality of the oranges—ripe and juicy, making it a refreshing accompaniment to the meal.
Overall, my experience at Happy Cafe was delightful. The ham and cheese crepe was a comforting and satisfying dish, while the orange juice provided a refreshing contrast. If you find yourself in Paris, this cafe is an ideal for anyone looking for an affordable, filling quick classic...
