Le Chocolat Alain Ducasse, Le Comptoir Cler — Local services in Paris

Although my review is almost a year after visiting I wanted tourist to be aware. We purchased well over $500 US of products for gifts. Salesperson was very helpful and courteous After arriving home 5 days later we discovered that the chocolate (3/4 of our purchase ) was expiring one week later. Even if we shipped out the gifts to family right away there was no way the product would’ve been received within its expiration date. I’m not giving expired gifts to family or anyone. I’ll. Mostly agree that it may have been naive on my part not to verify the expiration date when purchasing but I never thought this was what I needed to worry about when purchasing from a specialty store as this. We did enjoy some of the product before expiration and probably still could’ve after the date, but we felt in the end that maybe we were taken advantage of because we were tourist. If not, then why is product on the shelf this long. Reason I’m writing now is simply because we purchased exquisite chocolate from another France Chocolatier yesterday and it reminded me that I never reviewed this shop.
