Paristay apartment rentals — Local services in Paris

If you are looking for any kind of rental in Paris, run the other way. We had the worst experience with this company and urge anyone looking for a rental to look elsewhere. We found the apartment online, requested to book it with our given dates and Damien let us know it was available so we went to tour it. We decided after the tour that we would like to proceed and Damien promised to draw up the contract the following day as we wanted to move in Thursday, two days after the tour. We received the contract and the links were not working so we let him know and he said he would send it back with the few changes we requested and working links. In the mean time, we said no to three other apartments and gave notice in our current one because Damien promised the lease would be sent that day. After five or six emails to him that day, he finally responded saying the apartment isn't available to rent anymore. Not only does this company have some of the worst customer service (not responding to emails, phone calls, voicemails) but they also are advertising apartments online that have severe damages and we never would have known this if we did not see it in person. I am highly disappointed in this service. I rented an apartment with Paristay for a contract of 9 months with a friend while on exchange. We have since vacated the apartment over two months ago and have not received our security deposit (nor any information regarding when we may expect it). Our agent, Anne Jalais, failed to respond to either my emails or my flatmates. After the third consecutive email and after countless phone calls, I finally got a response saying the security deposit is something that is handled with the owner. However, this is highly problematic as upon signing the contract you do not receive the owner's contact details. The team at Paristay have also been notified of our situation but have failed to provide us with any adequate response. Their communication is shocking and the return of the deposit is now 2 weeks overdue, of which the legal requirement is two months upon vacation of the apartment. BECAREFUL CHOOSING YOUR AGENCY IN PARIS (ESPECIALLY FORGEINERS) I used this agency to find my apartment in Paris during my second year. At first, it went ok nothing overwhelming with an average service. However, I had a problem with my landlord after moving out (hence the fact he didn't want to return my security deposit). So I e-mail Ann who was in-charged of my contract with him, she stated in her e-mail she that she never handled this apartment, which was a COMPLETE lie. Furthermore, I had the chance to call her and discuss with her about the issue and she said "I will get in contact with your previous landlord and put you in CC as well"... 3 weeks pass no sign of her or my previous landlord... I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND...
