In comparison with the forty-ish number of road bridges that cross the River Seine in Paris, there are only six footbridges .. or Passarelles as they are known there.

The Passerelle Mornay, is the oldest, the least ornate, and doesn't really cross the Seine but the Canal St-Martin on the northern side of the river. This canal is home to around 200 boats, house boats and other mostly personal craft, and feels a little like London's Camden (slightly bohemian).

The bridge was built in 1825 of a simple truss design, I only found it accident, and will plan a walking tour to find all 6 of these bridges on...
