This place is simply exceptional. I feel very privileged to have discovered it at its inception, simply because I stayed at a Bastille hotel thatâs out of my normal comfort zone (in the 5th) and this happened to be practically next door.
They open at 12 but when I passed by to order a take away at 11 their entire focus was a very un-french âwhat can we do to helpâ. At 12 they had everything ready for me including an outstanding burger and 2 portions of suckling pig which lasted 10 meals! I do not exaggerate at all: the portions are certainly not Parisian. They also made sure I had 2 portions of sauces and because it was too early for the (fresh!) frites to be ready they made me portions of pommes purĂ©e.
The pork was credibly succulent and soft, its skin crunchy as crisps. Itâs the kind of thing you stand at a kitchen counter, rip off with your fingers and shove down your gullet like thereâs no tomorrow. Iâm glad I didnât eat it in the restaurant! đ
Au Cochon Volant will become a Parisian destination and if we are lucky enough many of it will pop up all over.

   Read moreNous avons dĂ©couvert ce restaurant au hasard de nos recherches sur Internet. Merci Google ! Notre hĂŽtel Ă©tait Ă proximitĂ©. Un simple mot : une tuerie ! Nous avons Ă©tĂ© accueillis comme des larrons en foire (Heu, des cochons en foire) :)) Une ambiance sympathique, familiale qui nous met Ă l'aise dĂšs le dĂ©part. Des plats copieux, excellents, faits maison, une purĂ©e de piments inĂ©galable qui font que nous revenons le soir-mĂȘme. Ce n'Ă©tait pas trĂšs raisonnable pour notre ligne mais on s'en fout ! Ă l'issue des repas, le patron nous offre un digestif que mon Ă©poux a beaucoup apprĂ©ciĂ© (surtout le mien), mĂȘme s'il n'en a pas l'habitude. Il me dit que cet alcool vaut plus que tous ces vaccins qu'on nous injecte contre le Covid_19 ! :))) Nous reviendrons Ă Paris au mois de Septembre et c'est sĂ»r que nous irons Ă nouveau nous y remplir la panse.
