Chez Papa Bastille — Restaurant in Paris

Scamming place. Serves cheaper alternative not champagne when ordered.

Some old guy (I would guess he was the owner) tried to scam us.

Ordered 2 coups (glasses) of champagne but we were served some random French sparkling wine. (Didn't taste like champagne)

When I went to ask about it that what were served to us, he showed the bottle and I could see that it wasn't champagne. When I told that it's not champagne he tried to convince me I'm french with argument that grapes are same.

Finally one younger servant came and apologized for this situation and served us champagne. And other team members tried supported him and apologized saying that the old man tries these kind of crazy stunts.

I would surely recommend everyone to avoid this place and employees to find better place to work because I doubt that you want to take part of this kind of scheming business.

Chez Papa Bastille is an amazing place to eat and have a few drinks. This is one of those places you stumble into expecting one thing and finding a group of people who love what they do and it shows in their food and great atmosphere.

My wife and I do not speak French, but that didn't matter because the waiter treated us to the most amazing lamb dinner. Our meal was well prepared food that was not pretentious. The lamb and roasted potatoes were so tender and full of flavor they melted in our mouths.

We were so happy that we kept coming back to enjoy Veal, Duck, Steak and yes more lamb. We are from Beef country and I tell you that was one of the best rib steaks I have had in a while. It really made our trip more enjoyable to experience the joy and laughter at a good restaurant that has such a wonderful staff. We shall return to Chez Papa...

Dopo qualche giorno a Parigi e dopo innumerevoli ristoranti dove i prezzi erano sempre alti abbiamo scoperto questa catena che ha una formula midi (così si chiama il menu pranzo in Francia) a 14 euro ed include un entree ed un plat o un plat e un dessert al prezzo di 14 euro. Ci sono diverse opzioni tra cui scegliere. Nel giorno in cui siamo andati noi il menù proposto era il seguente: ENTREES (accompagnati da insalata verde e pomodoro) Terrine de campagne Ouefs Benedictine

PLATS Choucroute Garnie a la saucisse Pavè de saumon Escalope de volaille gratinè Assiette cantalaise Steak de thon a la basquaise

DESSERTS Tarte aux poire chocolat chaud Moelleux au chocolat Tarte aux pommes.

Noi abbiamo provato: Terrine de campagne: una sorta di fette di polpettone di carne che include anche fegato, Quindi se non vi piace questo ingrediente scartate. Ouefs Benedictine: due uova a la coque servite con pancetta è una salsa molto buona con un lieve retrogusto di limone. Assiette cantalaise: una grande fetta di prosciutto cotto adagiata su un letto di patate al forno, funghi e formaggio. Molto abbondante è molto buono. Escalope de volaille gratinè: simile al piatto precedente Ma in questo caso invece del prosciutto vi era una fetta di petto di pollo.

Il menù del giorno non è tradotto in inglese e non è presente nel loro menù sul sito ma con un po' di ricerche su internet o una minima conoscenza del Francese si riesce a ricostruire di cosa si ritratta e ne vale sicuramente la piena perché è tutto molto buono, abbondante e ad un buon prezzo!

Oltre ai piatti del menu del giorno poi vi sono numerosissimi altri piatti a prezzi più alti ma secondo me vale la pena provare!

Al momento per me è il migliore per una buona pausa pranzo sostanziosa e ad un buon prezzo a Parigi!

Dopo il pranzo Soprattutto se è una bella giornata potete approfittarne per fare una passeggiata lungo la Senna o all'harenal.
