We were melting from the scorching sun after a visit to Buda Castle when we stumbled into Ida Bistro where the Maitre’D was welcoming & even placed a fan near our table. The restaurant in itself was tastefully set up. The elderflower & mint soda completely hit the spot in its refreshing flavours. We started with the duck liver terrine with the fruit chutney & brioche. It was simply presented but delicious. The slow roasted duck leg with cabbage & mash potato was delicious & homely. We completed the meal with the cottage cheese dumpling with a cinnamon sour cream - utterly delicious! I loved that it wasn’t overly sweet & the flavours were beautifully melded. I would highly recommend it to anyone who doesn’t like overly sweet desserts. I’m a fan! Our waitress, Kinga, who served us at the later part of our meal was knowledgeable, friendly & attentive. Ida Bistro is definitely a lovely place for a meal when visiting Buda Castle.

Overall, it’s a great spot for drinks and relaxing, I’d definitely visit again for drinks, but probably skip the food next time.
