This place is a wonderful oasis from the more touristy/busy section of Reykjavik. If you want a souvenir with real Icelandic qualities come here after visiting the downtown tourist stores and you'll find what you were missing. This has been a cooperative of real Icelandic artists for over 25 years - surviving the country's changing economic states over that time. I...

The woman who was working in the shop (presumably an artist herself? I regret that we didn't think to ask at the time) told us all about many of the items on display and gave us a real sense of how the artists create...
