Easily my favorite place in Reykjavík. It’s far more than a beautiful and diverse record store... it’s a cultural space that feels alive with music and creativity. The atmosphere is welcoming whether you’re a devoted music lover, a curious traveler, or just someone looking to experience an authentic slice of the city. The staff are passionate and generous with their knowledge, always happy to share recommendations and stories about Icelandic artists and the vibrant local scene.

Nice store but some glaring issues, the first of which being the prices, there were many records I was planing on buying but immediately put down upon viewing the prices, the highest vinyl prices in Reykjavík I’ve seen by far. While sometimes there would be an occasional somewhat alright deal the majority of the records there are overpriced, some to such an extent it’s laughable, if you want a Sigur Ros Takk vinyl that’ll set you back around 10.000 Krona. My other, smaller, issue with the store is the fact that many genres such as hip-hop and jazz are only accessible by going down a quite steep spiral staircase and I can imagine it causing issues if you are trying to carry up a lot of vinyl you are purchasing.

Overall the atmosphere was nice and welcoming and everyone was friendly just the prices lead to me not ending up purchasing...

I was there on Friday, 26 September 2025. I was looking for some Icelandic pop music as I am always curious to get to know what kind of music it is listend to in a foreign country. So in advance I read up on where to find fitting CDs and I was happy when I finally found the shop (which is also a bar); it is not far away from Hallgrímskirkja. I asked one member of staff to recommend something to me and he took the time to find some suitable CDs for me.
