We stayed from Feb 12 to the 15th at the Marriott Vacation Club Bali Nusa Dua Terraces. This is our second time to Bali and staying at this MVC resort, which is integrated with the Renaissance Bali hotel. This hotel is popular for business conferences and has large banquet and meeting rooms available.||The ATM machine is located towards the conference/banquet side, near the hotel rooms or behind the hotel’s check in desk counters. Unfortunately when we needed to use the ATM to get some local currency, the ATM machine was down. We opted to take the free shuttle to the Bali Collections shopping mall and of course, their three ATM machines were also down or not working properly. ||In the end, we hopped on the free shuttle to the Marriott Courtyard/MVC Nusa Dua Garden property and used their working ATM machine and to also look at that property. The Courtyard/MVC Gardens property was nice and is closer/easy walking distance to dining and shopping nearby than the Terraces property. The Terraces property maybe feels a bit more exclusive. We used the Bluebird app to get a rideshare back to the MVC Terraces which was very cheap, probably less than several US dollars.||The MVC Nusa Dua Terraces/Renaissance Hotel have two main restaurants on the ground level for breakfast buffet and our package included daily breakfast. Generally while breakfast service is good and friendly, they won't (can't?) go out of their way to customize items like their crepes. I wanted a filled crepe with some fruits, whipped cream and sauce but they couldn't do it. So I just found some pastries that had whipping cream, got some fruits and sauces and built my own!||The resort also has several restaurants on the main/lobby level as well. On Valentine's day we had dinner at the new steakhouse restaurant, Steaksmith. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner, the excellent and friendly service, and would highly recommend dining there.||We had a two bedroom villa at the Terrraces. All the villas have a full kitchen with cooktop, microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, pots/pans, cooking utensils, gadgets, small appliances and tableware such as dishes and eating utensils. There is a small welcome basket with local snacks provided. Daily housekeeping replenishes the coffee, tea, cream, sugar packets as well as the dish washing tablets and laundry detergent.| |There’s also a combo all in one washer/dryer unit in the kitchen area to do your laundry. There are instructions to use the appliances; but just like the last time we stayed, we could never get the setting for the dryer to work quite right so we tended to under dry our items vs. getting them shrunk or melted!||All of the villas at this MVC property have a private plunge pool on the balcony off the living room. But the problem is that the water is freezing or pretty cold (for us at least) because the overhang above blocks any sun, which is probably great to prevent sun skin damage. The large pools look nice, but no shade.||The MVC Nusa Dua Terraces villas are nice, but no elevator. Just like the last time, we were assigned the floor unit and our personal preference is usually an upper unit. The timeshare buildings here are built on a hillside slope. So the floor/ground villas require going downstairs to get to the villa and walking upstairs to get back. If you have mobility issues, then the “2nd” floor units are what you want to avoid the stairs. ||These villas are nice, but the master bathroom is a shower (albeit nice and large) only and no tub. And of course, we haven’t figured out the combo clothes washer’s drying setting.||Maybe we’re slightly biased (owners) towards the MVC Phuket Beach Club property and prefer that property a bit more, which is integrated with a JW Marriott Hotel because the three pools are large and have shaded areas. The Phuket property also is beach front, so direct beach access.||Even with our personal preferences towards the MVC Phuket property, we’d still rate the MVC Bali Nusa Dua Terraces a solid 5 with their friendly and efficient staff and would recommend...

Very bad 1st impression. We came and had to wait 10mins before another staff attended to us. And this is the check in timing at 3pm, the standard check in timing for hotels..
Ok, we try to take it that the staff goes for toilet break.. so ok, jz keeping cool. Once we were served, staff were showing unwilling smiles..ok nvm, we take it that the staff may have rushed out from toilet and is halfway doing her business but has to attend to customers..
Ok 2 negative points but hey, let us give it away since we are quite tired. Got the keys to our room and voila... our room no aircon! Called d recept and was informed that there wil b someone settling.. waited for 10mins without anyone coming.
Called again after 20mins and they said eh? "Really?" Duty Manager (DM) called back 2mins said he will attend issue personally within 30mins.. after 15mins of wait, i couldnt wait any longer n decided to go down since no one came to the room.
None of them wanted to look me in the eye except for another staff who happened to just come by. I repeated my story and told them i will wait at the lounge, 15secs away from recept. She then promised that the DM will come in 1min to the lounge.
Met the DM and didnt expect much.. sinz he did go up when we were in our 1st room.. just walking by, not to attend to us.. but walk by... and dis is after d 2nd call... ok, 3 points giveaway.. no more chances gona be given after this..
Went up to the new room but the room wasnt even ready, floor not cleaned/mopped and room was only slightly cold. Ok, lets gv and take for the weather.. but the service that was portrayed was totally unsatisfying. Despite my questions of why, the DM just said, yes it was checked but leme check again.. If the room was supposedly handled by the DM, it should be ready for the customer...
Do note that this hotel is in the PREMIUM section of Bali, in Nusa Dua.. and yet after paying so much, im gettin this kind of service. No service recovery of anything and no immediate apology.. jz a room replacement..
-after a 1 day stay, there was a closure and service recovery.. maybe bkoz of this review. im now changing the review from 1 star to 4 and now down to 2 stars, after much consideration of all other hotels that i had been to...
Unfortunately, things happened and i will not take my 1st impression down as it is still a fault caused and a wake up call for the hotel.. Hopefully no one else would suffer what we had gone thru during our visit here..
Plus point of the hotel, valet service when u drive here. Nice breakfast, superb spread with alot of choices. Hotel is very spacious and has fridge, with nice view (for pool side, average view for the other side).
Downside.... there are a few actually...
The shower in the room has a very flawed floor design... u judge for urself la eh..NOT all the water used for shower wil dry up OR flow into the hole..
Next is the carpark and convention centre is quite not d scene you expect. Since u are not using them, just ignore la eh.. but if u are, pls note that if it rains and u need to get items from ur car, eg thumb drive for music etc, you will have to wall via an unsafe route AND unprotected, unsheltered walk way.. which is walking through the slope cars use...
Why? Koz the convention centre connected to the hotel has a bad tile problem... thus the carpark door to the convention centre is locked. BUT there is a connecting path from the hotel to the carpark directly and only for staff. U may use that access as at times security guard give and take... but some others, wana play by the book.. so just use d valet, since its part of the whole paying package n experience..
Checkout is standardized12pm but they have only 2 staff, and d aircon is not even switched on.. we purposely grumbled slightly louder among ourselves quoting hw bad it is for them not to understand processes... overhearing us, the staff serving us immediately switched on the air con.
but overall the hotel is, in fact a great place to stay.. u guys can...
Read morePut bluntly, this is a glorified, run-down convention centre pretending to be a 5-star hotel. It has a near-identical name to the well-regarded Nusa Dua Beach Hotel & Spa, which has absolutely nothing to do with this shambles. That hotel is probably raking in better reviews from people who mistakenly think they’ve stayed there — if only we had been so lucky.
We made the mistake of booking four nights here as part of our honeymoon. It was such a miserable experience that we left two nights early, preferring to pay for a new hotel rather than endure another moment in this joke of an establishment. Here’s just a small taste of the disaster we encountered:
We arrived at around 5pm, yet our room wasn’t ready. The official check-in time is 3pm. The hotel was about a quarter full, so there was absolutely no excuse. This immediately set the tone for our stay.
The room itself was tired, with walls crying out for a fresh coat of paint. The towels were well-used and it felt more like a neglected airport motel than a supposed luxury resort.
After dinner, my wife ordered a peppermint tea to the room. They charged £4 for a single teabag. That’s the level of ‘hospitality’ you can expect here — gouging guests at every possible opportunity while delivering nothing in return.
At breakfast, I asked four different staff members if certain foods were dairy-free. I received four different answers. Clearly, allergy awareness isn’t something they take seriously. A personal highlight was being given a bowl of oatmeal instead of oat milk—a moment of absurdity that perfectly sums up this place’s incompetence.
I tried calling reception multiple times in the morning to arrange laundry. No one answered. Eventually, I had to walk over in person, causing us to miss the shuttle bus. That’s partly our fault for foolishly expecting any level of efficiency from this place. To add insult to injury, the laundry charge was an extortionate £25-30 per bag.
That afternoon, I went to the gym, which is basically one of the carpeted convention rooms with a few dumbbells in it. Mid-workout I tried to drink some water from the fountain and both taps were only able to provide scolding hot water. I ended up burning my hand under the tap trying to gauge the temperature – bad idea! I went back to reception to explain what had happened and got no sense that any of them were bothered, promising ‘they’d look into it’. Not particularly helpful when one of your customers has burned themselves using your facilities.
By this point, we had fully given up on the hotel. We went back to reception the next day, outlining a few examples to the hotel manager as to why we were leaving early. At no point did the manager apologise for any of the issues raised, nor offer a refund.
As it was our honeymoon, we did our best not to let this place ruin the trip, and thankfully, we found a real hotel to salvage the experience. But Bali Nusa Dua Hotel takes the crown for the worst hotel stay I have ever had, particularly against the expectations we had going into it. Avoid this place at all costs — unless you enjoy being overcharged, ignored, and...
