Sinssihwaro Korean BBQ — Restaurant in Bali

visited this place in late January 2025 :-) the location is good, it’s at the Gotama street which happens to be quite hip nowadays! and the food is great! i have no complaints for the food at all! i got their beef, half original-half spicy fried chicken, and their kimchi fried rice, all really tasty :-) their place is nicely decorated with dim lighting, it has two main areas; the bar and the table area, the table area is near a huge opening to the street so sit there if you’re a big group and need more brightness ^^ the bar area is more dim but cozy. by the way the place is quite small so maybe at peak hours (lunch, dinner, weekends) it would be wise to make a reservation :-)

HOWEVER! their service is unfortunately so off.. i have two major complaints:

1. it felt like i was served by some kids randomly picked up from the street - or a family member who’s on a break and forced to help at the restaurant 😭🤣 honestly so weird, there were at least two servers that seemed VERY UNTRAINED. they have NO knowledge on the menu (cannot answer any of our question on the menu even those as simple as whats the difference between the beef options), very slow in picking up orders or additional requests, and very awkward in doing anything for us, just obviously untrained! :-( unfortunately this affected our experience a lot and we hope that the restaurant can improve its staffs training..

2. the plates and bowls used are weird AND most of them are broken????? i am so surprised why must they use them at such awful conditions.. financial constraints.. idk.. and by weird i mean they do not seem well-thought of, like the plate does not match the food and the general ambience of the restaurant (see for example the pic of the kimchi fried rice i attached). i never thought this is a problem until i faced it here lol i now appreciate restaurants that think about these matters well T_T

anyway, all in all, great food but there were a lot of things that felt off with the general...

I went here for dinner with my family and we came early so we can get spots to sit.

The place is clean & small, i think only accept 16 guests including table of 6. This resto is a delicious bbq korean We had Beef Rib finger special Bbq sauce 200gr, the beef was tender and juicy and they bbq really good. I asked the waiters to BBQ for us since we brought some kids. Premium porkbelly , i like this wide cutting and thin, bit hard but able to eat. Sweet Bulgogi rice, bit sweet but mix it with rice it's really good. Funny things the restaurant don't serve hot tea or any hot drinks, they offer mocktail like Pink lady 80k , i have this just ok. Dragon fruit juice 30k it's worthed because the portion was big and the fruit taste really strong and not sweet.

Negative comment only the big green flies that keep flying around at our table maybe because we were the first guest came and ate. Really annoying and frustrated, we throw some food because the flies walking around it. The restaurant need to do something about this, i think the flies came from outside since they open air restaurant. The restaurant can buy pest sticky fly catcher brend cap gajah. (Hope you read this) Other comments the waiters is friendly but they lack of agile, some finished plate after we done eating, they just standing at the corner until i told them to pick up the plate, because the table it's pretty small for us as a family.

Nice and Cute Korean Restaurant in Ubud

This place was amazing. Got recommendation for friends and decided to try it. The tteok-bboki was great. The sauce was rich and we loved the fish cake. It's perfect to order it for sharing because of the big portion. Spicy Bulgogi Rice was good and the spicy was perfect. Korea BBQ Beef Rib Finger were so so and to be honest it was below my expectation because the meat was quite tough, less rich, but still enjoyable. Best of the best was Beef Rump & Special BBQ Sauce. So sad cause we just order for the 100gr portion. It was so juicy and left good aftertaste. Honorable mention for their kimchi. This was the best kimchi I've ever had. The sour was perfect. Need to try the combination of vegetable, meat and their kimchi in one bite. Good job Sinssihwaro. The place itself was beautiful with dimply lighting. We could see the chef cooking the meet if you select a seat near the kitchen. They will give you the dishes by a shovel (?)🤣. The services were good and fast. Totally recommend this place for those who looking for tasty and good concept Korean...
