We dined here on the last night of our week-long Irish vacation, and it turned out to be the absolute crown jewel of our trip from a culinary perspective. After a week of exploring Ireland’s sights and sampling various local spots, this place stood out.
Despite having no reservation, we were seated immediately on a Monday evening — prime time — which was a bonus, especially considering we had two young kids in tow. The staff was incredibly welcoming and accommodating from the moment we walked in, which made the experience all the more enjoyable.
Our server was exceptional — friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the menu. She took the time to answer our questions and offered fantastic recommendations. We decided to trust her completely and ordered everything she suggested, and we couldn’t have been happier with the outcome.
The crab claws were fresh, succulent, and perfectly cooked — a real taste of the Atlantic. The lamb shoulder was rich, tender, and melt-in-your-mouth, easily one of the best lamb dishes we’ve ever had. The sea bass was beautifully prepared, with crispy skin and delicate, flaky flesh that paired wonderfully with the sides.
Every bite confirmed we had made the right choice. The quality of the ingredients, the attention to detail, and the relaxed yet refined atmosphere made for a perfect final meal to cap off our Irish adventure. If you’re looking for a memorable dining experience that showcases the best of Ireland’s food scene, this is it. We left full, happy, and already dreaming of...
Read moreService was terrific! We didn't have a reservation, but they accommodated us right away. My husband got the prefixed 3 course meal, while I did a couple of things off the starters menu. The seafood chowder was filled with chunks of seafood and a hint of potatoes, but had too much dill for my liking; my husband loved it. The waitress served bread made on the premises; 1 was a Guinness brown bread, which wasn't your typical heavy brown bread and was very moist; the other was a brown soda bread which was also good, but I preferred the former. We also shared a delightful ceasar salad that automatically came with chicken on it. I would have ordered it without chicken if I knew. Lastly I got the lobster and chive ravioli in a lobster bisque sauce and my husband got the lamb shoulder. The bisque was not what I expected as a traditional bisque. This was more of a tomato stew with ravioli in it. I also couldn't tell there was lobster in the ravioli, but could definitely taste and see the chive. The lamb was fall-off-the-bone tender and was very very good. That came with mashed potatoes and broccoli. Both done nicely. Dessert was an apple tart with the most amazing homemade cinnamon cream and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Also very very good. Overall, loved the atmosphere and the service, wasn't crazy about everything I got, but my husband was....
Read moreso the waiter that was being forced into bad service by the lack of help was just the start.
the cocktails and wine were great.
the food was basically just horrible and i dont say that lightly. my wife like the bread but im not one for the dry clumpy mess that came out. the pork belly had a sauce on it that tasted like the shelf it was bought off of. the caesar salad had ham in it that was called something it definitely wasn’t. then when politely asked to make another caesar without big thick hunks of normal everyday ham they just removed 95% and sent it back out… the burrata itself was good but they just threw crotons from the ham caesar salad and some ketchup on the plate and said $12 please. the thing that amazed my wife and i the most was how dry the croquettes were (although now that im thinking about it the fact that you can mess up pork belly so badly is quite the feat…), if it wasn’t for the edible sauce that was randomly on the plate like a child did it they would have required a glass of water to accompany each one.
if i had to say something good about the food with a gun to my head id talk about how the butter wasn’t cold so you could spread it on the dry bread.
tldr nice people. good drinks. food from someone that either doesn’t care or doesn’t...
