I had my iPhone 13 pro for more than a year and had never experienced any problems with it till February 2023. I needed to change the camera module as zoom function did not work well. After changing it at this store I started experiencing troubles with my device. First of all, it started getting extremely hot while charging. Second of all, I dropped in the water for 2 sec and after than it got completely destroyed. i could not turn it on again and unfortunately I was on my vacation and I remained without the phone, all data and contacts my loved ones. I needed to t run to buy a new phone, but I did not manage to restore everything from backup.
Summing this up, I am very disappointed with this situation also because of the workers at the "genius" bar as they did not help me at all, instead, they started blaming me for putting my phone in the water (although I explained it happened by accident as I fell out and obvi my phone fell down too). They also told me it is VERY unlike Apple will compensate this damage or change the device.
I cannot be more disappointed than that!
“Genius” workers should always will to help, this is the most important thing. Marvin kinda tried to help or mb just wanted to seem so but in the end of the day I felt fooled. First we talked to Marvin but then another worker named Ana came and started interrupting us (are we in the supermarket?). First of all, Ana was so fake and unhelpful, her words made me feel so bad so I started crying as my phone got destroyed after "fixing" camera module. All data got lost which is literally unbelievable in 21st century. Second of all, Anna kept saying bullshit without even trying to understand what the main problem was. She is very unpleasant, rude, absolutely clueless. She started teaching us "physics and chemistry" although my husband has degree in this field. We tried to explain that it is impossible for water to come in with only ONE hole (it's damn physics), instead she just left.

I was given an estimated wait time of 30-40 minutes to speak with a technician, so supplied my number for an SMS notification. After 15 minutes, I was notified they were ready so hurried back to the store. Upon arrival back at the store, I was told I had to wait another 20 minutes for my appointment, even though they had messaged me to return. Once the technician was "ready", I was told to wait in a different location. I waited there for 30 minutes while employee after employee walked by, then went back to the gentlemen at the front to ask what was going on. He sent me back to the waiting location with assurances we would be helped soon.
Another 15 minutes passed before a young woman asked if I needed help. I explained the situation, and she told me that my phone could not be updated to the latest iOS as it was too old, and that I would have to purchase a new phone, but she could not help me with that right now. She also admitted she wasn't really sure about the iOS version, but had to go, and then left.
Having a feeling that this wasn't right, as the phone was only three years old, I went home and started doing some internet research. It was easy to find out on Apple's website that my phone could definitely be updated to the latest iOS, directly contradicting the Apple Store employee. After one hour, I was able to fix the issue and update my phone to the latest iOS myself. I find it very disappointing that I could easily find accurate information on Google about Apple's products, while the Apple Store employee provided untruths and ignorance. A sad state of affairs...
