The journey has just begunâŚâŚ
Our atelier, where we create and handcraft Grandtour, is located on Via dei Coronari in Rome, at only 100 meters from Piazza Navona. Our front window is surrounded by a large jasmine plant and we look out into a stunning fountain dating back to 1500, which is located at the center of a small square called piazza San Simeone. The building where our atelier is located goes back to 1500, named palazzo Salimei, it was purchased by Pope Sisto V in 1585. A floor of white wood adorns the entrance to the gallery which houses antique furniture and paintings of various eras from past to present.
The display cases, which exhibit our collection to the public are reflected in a large ornamental mirror, framed by carved wood, golden in color and dominant at the rear of our premises . Although there may be limited space to circulate, our premises are characterized by a very enticing and inviting atmosphere . Our clients can admire all the art while waiting to begin their own Grandtour. We have always taken the time to interact and talk with people who wander in, about the beauty that Rome has given us with its many years of history, and how it has provided us with emotions which, no matter how many times relived, are always as fresh as the first time we made our discoveries.
Over time we began to think that we could immortalize these moments by creating of them wearable objects. Grandtour thus was born as a sort of reminder of the journey, of the moment, as we remember moments when looking at a photograph.
Just a few steps away from us there are many small characteristically Roman trattorie which hurriedly prepare their tables and remind passersby that it is almost time to indulge in some special refreshments. We have often spent time with our clients, sharing an aperitif or a lunch together while the colors of the sunset have served to light up the facades of the ancient buildings around us, providing us with a magnificent backdrop as only this eternal city can.
Thanks to your much appreciated visits, we are delighted to share this great fortune. Buon ViaggioâŚâŚ. (have...
Read moreOML, I am honestly GTC WOWED!
I just received a âGrand Tour Collectionâ ring + I couldnât wait to honor them with an easy FIVE STAR review. (Their classy packaging alone was stand-out + the DHL delivery was swift!)
Their âcontemporary jewelry with an ancient soulâ really stirs me. They have myriad ancient motifs + colors to choose from + a story to offer with each piece. This kind of Italian heritage really appeals to me + so does the artwork that goes into the creation of their line. (Theyâre also happy to customize anything.)
Iâm drawn to their rings; the crouching âLionâ + the âPlinyâs Dovesâ design, in particular. Their rings are resin based + each one is stamped with their GCT brand logo. (They have bracelets + necklaces, as well.)
And who doesnât fancy anything from Rome?!
I was so pleased when I first discovered them + Iâm even happier that I can continue to enjoy them + spread...
Read moreMust-have Roman souvenir ! The concept is brilliant, allowing you to walk away with a fully unique piece of jewelry that is completely personalized to your taste. You pick the little antique scenes that speaks to you, and can play around with an infinite number of color combinations, materials and options. To top it all, the owner Michaela is an absolute sweetheart, who was extremely patient (hard to make a decision when you just want to take everything) and fully let you take ownership of the process while getting to know you, giving you advices on what to see and where to eat in Rome⌠We loved the product (ended-up taking a bracelet and a ring) but the experience itself of dealing with Michaela is making it a 5 stars worthy...
