箱根湯本駅 — Local services in Hakone

I made a mistake on using the reservation ticket to pass the gate, I know I did something wrong since the gate shows red light so I stop and wait for someone to comfirm (I slipped through the gate since I have my luggage go first), the man come out from the door next to the counter and shout to me for the ticket, at the moment I cant get what he mean for ticket so I show the reservation ticket, the man is like "NO, SHOW ME YOUR TICKET" without furthur explanation or context, I felt like treated as criminal or thief for how he stares. Finally I got my three day pass and he was like thank you and go away.

I know I made a mistake at first but I dont think I should have been...

today after typhoon and the romantic train is suspended. this is our first time to face. and we checked with the station staff and how to get to shinjukun. he smile not friendly and said he dont know and he cant help. luckily we got help from information counter ourself. i am so disapponited the adtitdue of the station staff as he could speak english and on duty but not helpful to travler and it is rare to know their rearranagment...

駅前は、お土産屋さんに、お蕎麦屋さんなどたくさんあり、歩いていても楽しいです。駅にもお土産屋さんに喫茶がありますが、椅子がありません。改札入ってベンチに座るか、トイレ前の所に座るしかありません。また、土日の午後から帰り(新宿方面)の特急券購入で並びます。だいたい帰りの時間がわかるようでしたら帰りの特急券を行きの新宿駅か到着したら箱根湯本駅で早めに購入しておくことをオススメします。ホーム内は、1番線がロマンスカー乗り場。2番線が普通列車乗り場です。以前は新宿行きの急行が走っておりましたが、今は小田原行きです。東京方面へは小田原駅で乗り換えになります。強羅方面の登山鉄道は、普通列車の先のホームになります。また、売店がありお菓子、飲み物の他にお弁当も販売しています。改札外には喫茶やお土産店、箱根登山鉄道窓口ではグッズの販売をしております。トイレは洋式はウォッシュレットになります。手をかざすとセンサーで流れるタイプですが、センサー...
