I didn’t have an appointment and they were fully booked but still accepted me as a walk-in. I was told it would be a 1-2 hour wait but I was in and out (with medication) in about 45 minutes! The facility was super clean, the staff was extremely polite and kind, and the doctor spoke great English. I would highly recommend for any foreign travelers, 10/10 experience.
Things to know: Cash only services (cost only about $38 USD for my whole visit) but they say to have at least $10,000 JPY. When you enter you will need to remove your shoes (immediately on your right) and use the office provided slippers (basket behind you after removing shoes). There is a water/tea machine (back left of the office) in case you need more liquids to be able to provide a sample.
In case you’re anxious about what to do, this is how my visit went: After confirming I was okay with the wait and the cash only estimated cost, they took my passport and scanned it (then held on to it until check out time). They then seated me and gave me a medical questionnaire to complete. I filled it out, took it back to the front desk, then returned to the same seat. A short while later a member of the staff came to walk me to the bathroom. There is a blue mat to put your office slippers on and you should wear the toilet slippers to use the toilet. I put my sample in the window, and then again returned to the same seat. After another short wait, the staff came to take me to a consultation room with the doctor. He walked me through the test results, gave me a medication that they also use in the US, and then asked if I had any questions before we finished. I then went back to the exact same seat and waited for the front office staff to call me up to check out. At check out they give you the visit summary, your passport, and a receipt. You pay and then go back to put your shoes on. I left my slippers on the floor next to the basket where I...
Read moreWorld-class medical practice. Incredible doctor, nursing team, and clinic staff. I say this from traveling internationally almost constantly for work; I’ve received care in dozens of countries. This is my first Google review but I wanted to take the time to leave this (completely unsolicited review) specifically for this doctor and his team, as they have gone above and beyond to diagnosis and successfully treat my complex and chronic issues while I’ve been stuck away from home during COVID. I wanted to tell others, especially visiting foreigners, that this is a wonderful place to get care.
Such a peaceful clinic experience where you will feel taken care of from start to finish. English is spoken; Dr. Kajita is fluent. Very fair prices for people, important for people like me visiting Japan without medical insurance. If you find yourself on holiday or traveling for work with any urological issues, common (like a UTI) or uncommon, do not hesitate to walk into this clinic and schedule an appointment. The experience is very discrete and private (eg private waiting pods). Getting medicine couldn’t be easier - either in office or in the pharmacy in the same building. Most tests like urinalysis can be done immediately right there in the office. Things like MRIs are done in a companion office, again with nearly immediate results.
To those of you who live in Kyoto, you are very fortunate to have such a brilliant, kind, warm, and wise doctor and medical practice. I am touched, and my quality of life significantly improved, by how Dr. Kajita trusts his patients and cares for them.
Thank you and very best wishes to Dr....
Read moreI went to this doctor because I felt pain in my epididymis area again in Kyoto. I had went to a different clinic in Tokyo before due to pain and diagnosed it was epididymitis.
But when I said that I am going through pain, the doctor did not consider what I am saying and with just palpation, he said it’s intermittent pain in epididymis and he doesn’t know the reason, does not even know what I can do about it, or if the pain will go away.
I went to this doctor twice, both times the same response.
I went to another doctor and said that the pain can be left after epididymitis even when the cause is gone so to wait for a while.
If he does not know what to do about a patient, this doctor should accept his ignorance and introduce another doctor that is specific to the symptom.
So if someone thinks he is authoritative, it is not your problem but his.
The staff were supportive...
